2023 NAIDOC - For Our Elders 🖤💛❤️

Looking back at our 2023 Liverpool Plains NAIDOC celebrations, where we honoured and celebrated our Elders 🤍
It was such a beautiful day filled with connection, community, storytelling and respect for those who have guided generations before us. Moments like these remind us of the strength, knowledge and love our Elders continue to carry and share within our communities.

Always grateful for these moments together. ✊🏾

Throwing it back to our 2022 celebrations.
A day many of us won’t forget. The rain came down, but it didn’t stop our mob. If anything, it showed exactly who we are… strong, connected, and committed to showing up for each other, no matter what.

The 2022 theme, “Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!”, was a powerful call for action, not just in big moments, but in our everyday lives. It reminded us to stand proud in who we are, to continue fighting for justice, to keep culture strong, and to show up for our communities, our families, and our future generations.
And that’s exactly what happened that day. Through the rain, through the mud, through it all, our community showed up.

There was laughter, connection, culture, and pride. A true reflection of resilience and the strength of our people.
Our young people also danced on stage around our Elders, representing the theme to get up, stand up and show up for movement ✊🏾

Moments like this remind us that NAIDOC is who we are, every day, beyond the week.

Looking forward to seeing our dancers again this year 👣 - if you have a young person wanting to be involved, practice will start next week, details to come.

NAIDOC celebrations in Quirindi 🖤💛❤️

One for the memories, the theme at this time, 2018
"Because of her, we can"

Im sure many of us can step into spaces and do what we do today, because of some of the strong, inspiring and loving women, our mothers and grandmothers, sisters and Aunties in this picture and beyond.

A beautiful memory 👣

Thanks to Sandra at the Quirindi Rural Heritage Village & Miniature Railway for the photos

- more memories to come.
