This page and community serves as one of the destinations for the Quambatook Historical Centre. Thanks to the tireless work of the committee and its helpers, we have been able to assemble a great collection of items that celebrate the rich history of this proud Mallee town. Within the museum is our own John Williamson music museum, celebrating the international music career of John. With

materials to learn about what life was like growing up in "Quamby" we celebrate the town and the people. The centre is open for visits generally by appointment and over important weekends for the town.

Borrowed or stolen? ...We anticipated theft, but not from “locals”! Several donated albums containing newspaper clippings and photos have been “removed” from the QHC. Seemingly some small amount of guilty conscience must have kicked in as several albums were torn apart and only selective pages taken. It is easy to assume these items would only have value to “locals” or families thereof. Ironically, the QHC will make copies of anything you would like, on site, for free. Just ask.

We would like the items returned for others to enjoy. To avoid your guilt, anonymously post them to Quambatook Historical Centre, Quambatook, Victoria 3540 or drop them in a blank box at the stores (under the darkness of night).

It is very likely a FB “friend” of QHC has these, but we know that if you repost this, we will certainly reach 99% of the people we need to. So please do.

Save us the effort of investigating exactly what pages/families were taken and then outing you publicly.

Very few towns can lay claim to an "Australian Championship", but we can. Leo Parker, Trevor Bennett, Kelvin Jobling and Keith Elliott sat down to give us the history of how the Australian Tractor Pull Championships came to be in Quambatook and what is has meant to the town.

You would be 'Plum Crazy' not to be 'Quamby Quaker-ing' to sit and watch this. Maybe grab a 'Cannie Cruncher' while you do?
