The 2025 Aussie Bird Count, AKA Australia’s biggest citizen science event, is almost upon us! 🦅

From 20-26 October, you can help inform how urban bird populations are faring by counting and sharing your observations, and it only takes 20 minutes!

To take part the 2025 Aussie Bird Count, simply:
- Register as a counter at aussiebirdcount.org.au
- Download the free Aussie Bird Count app
- Pick a spot – you can count in your own backyard, local park or favourite outdoor space, or even from the comfort of your own home!
- Enter your location in the app and get counting by recording the name and number of each species you see in a 20-minute period, and
- Submit your count using the app or our handy web form.
