🙏 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO THE ROYAL HOTEL MURGON 🙏

A few weeks ago, the Proston Car Rally Club had the privilege of welcoming a pretty special group of visitors, the Dunga Derby Fraser Coast, who dropped in on the Friday before our Round 3 event. 🏁❤️

The Dunga Derby is an incredible event that brings people together for a great cause, raising much needed funds and awareness for Rally for a Cause and supporting local families doing it tough.

But behind the scenes, things didn’t quite go to plan…

Late Thursday afternoon, we were hit with some very unexpected changes, leaving us with only hours to find a way to cater for a couple hundred hungry Dunga Derby participants arriving the next day. 😬

So, I made a phone call to Rowena at The Royal Hotel Murgon with what can only be described as a monumental request…

And boy oh boy, did she deliver! 🙌

With virtually no notice, Rowena and the team at The Royal somehow pulled together what felt like the impossible. They went above and beyond, worked their backsides off, and made sure everything was ready when we needed it.

It’s moments like these that remind you just how lucky we are to have businesses and people like this in our community, people who don’t just say they’ll help, but roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

On behalf of myself and everyone at the Proston Car Rally Club, we genuinely cannot thank Rowena and the entire Royal Hotel Murgon team enough. You turned an almost impossible situation into a success within a matter of hours. ❤️

We won’t forget it.

Well… what a weekend! 🤯🏁

It’s hard to put into words just how incredible the last few days have been.

🚗 80 Dunga Derby cars rolled through.
Around 250 people came with the Dunga cars
🏁 60 Khanacross competitors hit the track on Saturday.
🔥 27 burnout cars lit up the pad on Saturday night.
💨 Over 600 Khanacross laps completed.
☁️ 75 tyre-frying burnouts.

Everywhere you looked there were people enjoying grassroots motorsport, catching up with mates, lending a hand and making memories.

Our little club is absolutely thriving.

Like every event, we had a few curve balls thrown our way, but that’s what makes this club so special. Nobody gave up. Everyone dug deep, worked together, adapted when we needed to, and made sure the show went on.

The atmosphere all weekend was something special. The smiles, the laughter, the teamwork and the support from competitors, volunteers, sponsors and spectators reminded us exactly why we do this.

To every single person who attended, competed, volunteered, sponsored or simply came along to support us, thank you. You’re the reason this little club continues to grow into something we could only have dreamed of a few years ago.

Here’s to many more weekends like this.

A huge thank you to Wondai Lions Club Inc for volunteering their time to run the canteen at our event. Community support like this plays a massive part in making our weekends possible, and we really appreciate everything they do.
