A Crossroads mentor for over 25 years, Jenny has reviewed nearly 350 lessons from Crossroads students and written as many letters.

“I was originally told about Crossroads by another member of my church. Crossroads Bible correspondence lessons are posted from the office for me to prayerfully mark and then write a letter of care, support and encouragement to the student. In this way students are introduced to Jesus and discipled by their mentors.

Crossroads is a vital and exciting ministry, not only encouraging those in prison with the hope of Jesus’ forgiveness and acceptance but it has also greatly enriched and encouraged me and all the many other mentors, as we see genuine transformation occurring in the lives of our Crossroads students.” – Jenny

We’re thankful for Jenny’s willingness to support and encourage students by receiving and responding to their lessons and letters.

While you may not be able to step into a prison, you can bring the love of Jesus behind prison walls by mentoring with Crossroads. You’ll receive all the training and support you need to minister to men and women as they get to know Jesus and His love for them.

Together we can cultivate Christ-centred relationships that change lives.

Pray with us for students across Australia and the Pacific, that their lives will be transformed by the unconditional love of Jesus.

The action of a faith-filled friend can change a life.

“I was given a hint and guidance a few years ago by God through my friends to try this course. God encouraged me. So, I got onto this course and was not serious at first, but then God’s enlightenment, grace and glory started to work on my heart and so I got serious in learning God’s righteousness and God’s way through this Bible study course slowly but steadily.” Sanji*, Crossroads Student Australia

Praise God for His faithful people and hearts willing to respond.

Christ-centred relationships change everything.

We’re always thankful to hear our students express themselves through the creative arts. Here Ruth shares her heart through her poem, Father We Thank You.

Father we thank You
For the light that shines all the day;
For the bright sky you have given,
Most like Your heaven,
Father we thank You.

Father we thank You
For the lamps that lighten the way;
For the human skills exploration
Of Your creation;
Father we thank You

Father, we thank You
For the friends who brighten our play;
For Your command to call
Other sisters and brothers all,
Father we thank You.

Father we thank you
For Your love in Jesus today;
Giving us help for tomorrow
Through joy and sorrow;
Father we thank You.

We’re thankful for our partnership with Supporting Work in Mission (SWIM) in the Solomon Islands. Thanks to the coordination of SWIM Chaplain, Michael Light students at Tetere and Auki facilities have now begun their studies with Crossroads.

We pray for these students, their mentors in Australia and the SWIM team who are making it happen on the ground. And we look forward to introducing electronic lessons later this year.

Because Christ-centred relationships change everything.

We’re deeply thankful for our partners in ministry, including prison chaplains. Crossroads can be a resource for their work supporting and discipling men and women on their faith journey.

It was so encouraging to hear what it means for one chaplain.

“Your ministry is amazing. I praise God for the growth, and we see it here on the ground… Your courses get through and bring so much encouragement, hope and new life!

It is such a wonderful way for people to minister without physically having to enter these restricted places. Your mentors are excellently trained, and I have the deepest confidence in the way they interact with the inmates. It is such a help to chaplaincy.” – Prison Chaplain NSW

Together we can foster Christ-centred relationships between people in prison and people on the outside.

Praise God for what he is doing in and through his people. Thanks to the commitment of local churches, volunteer mentors and supporters, over 5100 lessons from students have been received and responded to this year.

That’s 5100 personalised letters of encouragement and support going into prisons across Australia and the Pacific.

Will you pray with us for the students who receive these letters? That each one will be a message of hope and light in what can often be a place of darkness.

Cultivating Christ centred relationships that change everything.

I am writing to say a big thanks to the mentor Anne* who received my Bible study lesson. I really liked the feedback and the time she has invested in looking at my Bible studies. Her feedback was so good and accurate. She also prayed for me. I am so, so, so thankful to her. – Arjun* Crossroads Student Australia

By giving time, attention and prayer, Crossroads mentors share the love of Jesus with men in prison like Arjun.

Every day we see that Christ-centred relationships change everything.
