This award is a true testament to Greg's commitment and dedication to not only the Whitsunday SES Unit, but SES as a whole.

SES Members from Mackay, Whitsunday, Isaac and Rockhampton joined QPS, MRQ and RFS for a successful two-day multi-agency search and rescue exercise at Midge Point.

A great opportunity to put our skills to the test, strengthen coordination and build capability across agencies.

Thank you to our volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure they are always ready to assist our community when needed.

This weekend we celebrate ALL our volunteers 🧡🧡

SES Week 🧡

Today marks the start of SES Week, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank our amazing SES volunteers.

We see the time you sacrifice to support your communities — responding when help is needed, often at all hours and in challenging conditions.

But we also recognise the many hours that happen behind the scenes. The training, planning, meetings, administration, equipment checks, fundraising and preparation that so many people never see.

Every one of those hours helps ensure our communities are safer and better prepared.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we thank you. 🧡

This weekend we have a multi agency exercise at Midge Point.
If you see us out and about say hi or pop down to the Midge Point SES shed and have a chat.

🚨 You may notice a little more emergency services activity around Midge Point this weekend!

From 21–23 August, SES and our partner agencies will be out and about around the Midge Point area conducting a multi-agency search exercise.

We’ll have SES crews from across the region taking part, including Whitsunday SES and Isaac Regional SES Unit, working alongside our Mackay SES members and partner agencies.

So if you see SES crews, flood boats, drones, search teams and emergency service vehicles moving around the community — don’t be alarmed, we’re just practising! 😊

These exercises give our people the opportunity to work together, practise their skills and make sure we’re ready when our communities need us for real.

👋 If you’re in the area, come and say hi! We’ll have a community engagement area set up at the Midge Point SES building and would love to see some locals drop in for a chat and see what we’re up to.
