Members of the Far North Coast RFS will be completing essential pre-season Training in the Pottsville area on Saturday the 10th of October between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

The training will see fire trucks and crews moving between the Tweed Coast Brigade Station on Centennial Drive, the Pottsville Environmental Park also on Centennial Drive and the Cudgera beach access track, off Tweed Coast Road, North of Pottsville.

Firefighters will be using smoke machines for the event, which may be visible from the roadway however there will be no live fire used on the day.

Both areas will remain open to the public however we do ask residents to be aware of fire trucks moving in the area and drive accordingly.

RFS Open Day is tomorrow!

Come down to Centennial Drive, Pottsville between 10am and 1pm. We'll have a fire-truck bouncy castle for the kids, and you'll be able to check out the fire trucks and fire-fighting equipment too.

There'll be a sausage sizzle if you're hungry, along with the local Tweed Coast RFS brigade members to discuss your plans for the upcoming fire season.

Ever wanted to help out the local fire brigade?

Now's your chance - the Tweed Coast RFB is looking for new volunteers! Doesn't matter what your skill set is, there are many ways you can assist.

It's been a busy Sunday for the Tweed Coast brigade, starting with a 2:30am car fire just south of the bridge on Tweed Coast Road. The vehicle crashed into a power pole, snapping it in half and bringing down power lines before becoming fully engulfed in flames.

Upon returning to station four hours later, our crew was immediately paged to an overheated EV car battery in Pottsville, thankfully without major incident.

And lastly our volunteers were called to a single vehicle car crash on Clothiers Creek Road just before lunchtime.
