Interesting initiative 💚♻️

While most kids were focused on homework and hobbies, Rebecca Young was designing a solution for people sleeping on freezing streets.

The Glasgow student invented a solar-powered heated blanket built into a backpack that could transform winter survival for homeless individuals.

Her brilliant idea? Using solar panels to power copper heating wires with a smart temperature control system that conserves battery life during cold nights.

When she entered the UK Primary Engineer competition, something incredible happened...

Rebecca's design beat out 70,000 other entries to win the prestigious MacRobert Medal through public vote!

But this isn't just about winning awards. Engineering firm Thales was so impressed they built a WORKING PROTOTYPE based on her design.

From a compassionate observation to a potentially life-saving invention – all because one young girl refused to walk past a problem without trying to solve it.

And while Rebecca continues rocking out as a drummer in her band "The Girls," her innovation might soon be warming those who need it most on winter streets.

Nightfam, this is your reminder: You're NEVER too young to change the world.

Sometimes the most powerful solutions come from the simplest question: "How can I help?"

What's one problem YOU'VE noticed that needs solving? 👇

When repurposing/upcycling becomes another level….♻️

I repaired reusable shopping bag handle using some strapping that was thrown in the rubbish. The rest will be used on homemade tote bags ♻️💚😇
