Kings Cross Community Centre will be at the Kingscross Organic Food Markets tomorrow morning from 8am - 1pm. Located next to the flower stall.

Our lovely volunteers will be there to talk about the work we do in the community, sign you up as a member or a volunteer and have a curated rack of our fabulous KX Op Shop bargains! There might even be some petware available for all the Popo pooches!

We have hired a bus & driver for the next month!
So Day Trips are back on the timetable.

Everyone is welcome to join the Kings Cross Community Centre Day Trip for a great day out of Potts Point Village. See the sights, stop for lunch, enjoy the company.

Spend the day strolling The Entrance’s waterfront, watching pelicans gather near Memorial Park, and browsing cafés and shops. Walk along the foreshore or take in ocean views at the nearby beaches. Enjoy fish and chips by the water, for your lunch.

The Kings Cross Comnmunity centre is proud to present JAZZ UP THE CROSS - an outdoor event in FITZROY GARDENS on SUNDAY 25TH OCT from 3 - 6PM.

Featuring musicians performing in and around Fitzroy Gardens, bringing great sounds and atmosphere to the day. There will be a KXCC membership stall, where visitors can learn more about our services, programs and activities and become a volunteer / member.

For the artistic at heart, our craft stall manned by a few of our creative volunteers will invite children to head gear and masks.

Face-painting artists from Fab Fun will keep our younger visitors entertained and looking festive.

DOCOS & DIRECTORS X | Monsieur Mayonnaise

An epic adventure starring artists, werewolves, heros, N***s, a comic book & bagettes...with lashings of French mayonaisse.

Thursday 5th November
2pm for 2:30pm until 4:30pm

Join us for the first in a series of special screenings of Australian documentaries introduced by their directors. Monsieur Mayonnaise, directed by Trevor Graham, kicks off the season in November upstairs at The Rex.

Post WW2 migrants Georges and Mirka Mora brought bohemia, great food and equal measures of sophistication and scandal to 1950s Melbourne. In Monsieur Mayonnaise their son Philippe Mora, artist and film-maker, takes us on an epic adventure to uncover his father's clandestine role in the French Résistance and his mother's miraculous escape enroute to Auschwitz.

Acclaimed Sydney Director Trevor Graham (Mabo, Make Hummus Not War) has written, produced and directed documentaries for over 35 years. He has won two AFI awards for Best Documentary as well as many national and international awards.

Trevor Graham will join us for Q&A after the screening.

Get ready to Jazz Up the Cross!

We are excited to announce that our friends from Kings Cross Community Garden will be joining us for the event.

Our new event will be a fun, relaxed day bringing local residents, businesses and the wider Kings Cross community together. You can have a seat in Fitzroy Gardens, whilst enjoying listening to live jazz, blues and a touch of disco in and around the gardens.

will be joining us at Jazz Up the Cross with an information table, where you can find out more about how the garden operates and perhaps sign-up as a member.

- Learn about the garden's communal growing beds, how members work together to plant and harvest produce, and how seed-saving, composting and nurturing diversity help us garden more sustainably

- Find out how to join, support the garden and participate as much as you want in regular working bees, social events and topical workshops.

- Ask about space use and stewardship - how they work alongside other users of Lawrence Hargrave Reserve to maintain a welcoming and productive public green space.

The Kings Cross Community Garden is an inclusive urban garden that encourages neighbours to come together to learn, share and grow in harmony with the wider reserve.

We are looking forward to the community garden people join us at our event.

on Sunday 25th October
3 - 6pm!

Featuring musicians performing in and around Fitzroy Gardens, bringing great sounds and atmosphere to the day. There will be a KXCC membership stall, where visitors can learn more about our services, programs and activities and become a volunteer / member.

Trevor Brown with his big brassy New Orleans style band - whose diverse career spans everything from classical & jazz to electronic music, sound design and traditional music from around the world. Watch out for Trevor and his band as they play throughout the gardens and surrounding streets, revving up the energy for the afternoon.

Join MC Vashti Hughes for a vibrant Sunday afternoon of live music, laughter and unforgettable performances. Enjoy blues from Robert Susz, disco anthems from Paula Terry with guitarist Victor Jesus, and the big, brassy New Orleans sounds of Trevor Brown’s band filling the gardens and streets.

Paula Terry is an Australian singer whose electrifying voice and vibrant career span Kings Cross nightclubs to Tokyo’s neon-lit streets. Her debut album Just Breakaway marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, showcasing her versatility across genres. Paula is performing a set of disco anthems accompanied by her gifted gutarist Victor Jesus.

Robert Susz - best known as the lead singer of 1980'S soul band, The Dynamic Hepnotics. With an amazing energy and moves, Robert is a harmonica player and songwriter. he and his guitarist Adam Pringle, will be entertaining us with his take on the blues as the "The JukeJoint Two".

Our new event will be a fun, relaxed day bringing local residents, businesses and the wider Kings Cross community together.

An opportunity to celebrate with our community, find out about the work Kings Cross Community Centre does and provide locals with a chance to join up as a volunteer or member.

Join our fabulous MC Vashti Hughes for a vibrant Sunday afternoon of live music, laughter and unforgettable performances in Fitzroy Gardens.

Vashti is a fun & humourous host with a diverse background in the performing arts.

As a fixture of Sydney’s underground theatre and cabaret scene her career spans over 20 years in show business. Vashti will be introducing a wonderful collection of talented jazz & blues musicians & singers from around the hood and beyond including:
