🎨 The SVC Art Exhibition is Back in 2026! 🎨

We are delighted to announce the return of the SVC Art Exhibition, taking place in Potts Point from 11–13 September 2026.

Join us for our highly anticipated Opening Night, a wonderful evening showcasing the work of both established and emerging Australian artists. Enjoy drinks, canapés, live music, and be among the first to view and purchase the artwork on display.

Whether you’re a passionate collector, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for a fantastic night out, the SVC Art Exhibition promises to be a highlight of the Sydney arts calendar.

Dean Brown 👨‍🎨

Lives and works in Sydney, Australia

Dean Brown is a Sydney based painter and printmaker known for his formal rendering of figures and objects that contain a characteristic stillness and speak to moments in time. In Brown’s paintings, there are two central components: the form and its shadow.

Brown’s works are bold but they realise time in a way that is steady and quiet. Every angle is regarded, each striking colour (when colour appears) is carefully selected, and the body parts are fitted together like pieces to an anatomical puzzle. Shrouded in stillness and anonymity Browns paintings contain both a familiar and enigmatic quality.

This piece by Oliver Watts will be exhibited at the Art Exhibition 🖼️

Oliver Watts’ paintings are rich in allusions from popular culture to the long history of painting and its various genres (portraiture, landscape, still life etc). His images borrow, steal and reuse visual culture. His work is contemporary in the way everything is equivalent and brought into play. He often stages reenactments of literature or art history using actors and other collaborators. The artifice of the image is also embodied by his gestural style of painting, mosaic-like and languid. Permeating his works is the Australian landscape, the heat of the sun, the crunch of the forests and the deafening sound of cicadas. Watts’ paintings are baroque, rich, seductive and complex.

We are excited to announce that Jasper Knight will have this piece exhibited at our Art Exhibition 🖼️

About
Jasper Knight is a Sydney-based artist.

From 2005-2022, Knight has been a finalist in the Archibald prize eight times. He has been a finalist in the Wynne Prize four times, the Sulman prize twice and the Moran prize twice. He was awarded an Australia Council Emerging and Established New Work grant, the Freedman Foundation Scholarship and the Rocks Art Prize.

He has also been a finalist in the Blake Prize, The ABN-Amro Prize, The Helen Lempriere, The Brett Whiteley Prize and was the 2008 winner of The Mosman Art Prize. In 2007 he opened Chalk Horse Gallery with the generous support of the Australia Council and the City of Sydney.

Knight has shown this year in Sydney, Melbourne and at the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair. His work is in almost all NSW regional gallery collections, Artbank and the National Gallery of Australia. This year, two of his works entered the National Portrait Gallery permanent collection.

Jasper Knight is represented by Chalk Horse in Sydney and James Makin Gallery in Melbourne

His first major book is due at the end of the year published by Thames and Hudson.
