The Portsea Surf Life Saving Club was formed in 1949 by a group of local residents to protect the lives of swimmers at the notoriously dangerous Mt. Levy Beach, commonly referred to as the Portsea Back Beach. Nepean National Park, which is managed by Parks Victoria. Since 1949 members have been responsible for saving over 4,500 lives on our beach. Since 1949 the Club has assisted over 1,500 young men and women to gain the Surf Life Saving Australia's coveted Bronze Medallion.

Portsea SLSC was proud to stand alongside the community at the Sorrento ANZAC Day March and Service, laying a wreath on behalf of all our members.

Today, we remember those who gave their lives in service of our country, those who returned home carrying the lasting impact of war, and all who have served. Lest we forget.

A special mention to Portsea Active Member and Wall of Famer Michael “Whippy” Wilson for reciting the Ode of Remembrance.

Big congrats to our Open competitors — Katie taking 9th in the 2km run and backing up with Liv in the 2x1km, Cha, Matt and Chloe putting down some great performances in the double ski events, and Liv, Cha and Katie in the taplin!
