How about joining us on Thursday, May 22nd, for a 14km walk from Whites Beach to Bridgewater Bay.

This walk is graded easy/medium and will take in dramatic cliffs, the blowholes, the petrified forest, the seal colony and finishing at the beautiful Bridgewater Bay.

We will meet at the Bridgewater Bay carpark @ 8:15am to arrange carpooling.

Next Saturday FGSWW Recreational Day Walk will be held on April 12th in the Lower Glenelg National Park.
Walkers will enjoy a 10km trek along the river section of the GSWW from Battersby’s Camp To Sapling Creek with
spectacular views of the Glenelg River.

On March 15th the next FGSWW Saturday walking group will be a Morning Beach Walk / Clifftop Scenery
in the Cape Bridgewater area. Trewalla Loop Walk. 4.8 km easy walk. A seaside adventure of beautiful coves,
rocky headlands and dense coastal vegetation.
New walkers are welcome and must register by Thursday 13th March, by contacting Lou 0400145220.

The next FGSWW Saturday Walking Group walk will be a Twilight Walk on February 8th.
Bridgewater Lakes To Blowholes via White’s Beach and Spring’s Camp. A 10km walk along the coastal section of the GSWW, followed by a BYO picnic tea at the Bridgewater Lakes.
Leaves Portland Information Centre at 2pm.
Carpooling will be arranged from there.

Next FGSWW Saturday Walking Group walk will be a Twilight Walk. On January 18th in the Lower Glenelg National Park
along the Gorge Circuit Walk. Starting at the junction of the North Nelson Track and River Road. Walkers will enjoy a 9.2 km walk along the GSWW. With interupted views of the gorgeous Glenelg River, we’ll arrive at a picnic table then return along a vechicle management track. This will be followed by a BYO Picnic Tea at Bridge Park in Nelson.
NOTE: Leaves Portland Information Centre at 2pm. New walkers are welcome and must register by Thursday 16th.

WE’LL BE THERE! Come and visit the Friends of the GSWW. We will have a stall on Saturday 2nd helping our lovely locals celebrate the Bonney Upwelling, that brings so much richness to the ocean around us. We will have merchandise and members there to answer all your questions. Come and say ‘Gidday!’

Take a walk with the FGSWW Saturday recreation walkers along the river section
of the GSWW on September 14th. Enjoy approx 8 km easy walk along McHugh’s Track To Nelson

section of the GSWW from Bill’s Walk to Quarry Gates via Blacknose Point, Crumpets Beach and
Gannet Colony.

MEMBERSHIPS DUE FOR THE FRIENDS OF THE GREAT SOUTH WEST WALK.
It’s that time of the year again, and all you wonderful current and want to be members are due to pay your annual fees for the next financial year!
The memberships have been updated to cater for insurance. This means there are 3 options for Friends; a Member, a Supporter or a Sponsor.

3 OPTIONS:
MEMBER: Active Volunteer Category which includes committee members, track maintenance crews, walking groups,
volunteers at landcare and school sessions and other working bees.
• SUPPORTER: Non-membership category (does not require insurance cover) - not active as a volunteer and not participating in recreational walks or any working bees.
• Business / Corporate / Schools SPONSOR – Bronze/ Silver

Please note: Only Members will be covered by insurance and have voting rights.
All Members, Supporters & Sponsors will continue to receive newsletters, invitations to events and information re the GSWW.
