Based in Port Macquarie in New South Wales, Climate Change Australia is a non-aligned, non-partisan community group seeking outcomes that support a safe climate and more clean energy. Our aims are to raise awareness about climate change issues and impacts, promote the increased use of renewable energy and encourage all levels of government to take urgent action on climate change. What happens when ‘unprecedented’ becomes the norm? Join CCA for a screening of 'Floodland', a documentary which looks at the record-breaking floods that devastated Lismore in 2022 and their continuing impacts today. The film explores why we build where we build and how our current way of life can be adapted to more frequent flooding events in the future.
'Floodland' will screen at Majestic Cinemas, Port Macquarie, at 6.30pm on Tuesday 19 May, followed by a panel discussion on community resilience to flood disasters.

Hot off the press!! New greenfield coal mines will no longer be allowed under the NSW Government position. 🚨 📰

This is a clear line in the sand: Coal is on the way out.

But much more needs to be done to secure a safer future for NSW. The Government must build on this announcement by banning extensions to existing coal mines, as part of a clear plan to phase out fossil fuel production and exports, and shift to a clean and future-proofed economy.

The ABC has reported that the Australian government is considering a new tax on gas exports. But we know the gas lobby will push back hard to protect a system that lets them pay almost nothing. So we need a strong show of public support right now, before decisions are locked in. Please sign this GetUp! petition.

Gas corporations are making record-breaking profits, and paying almost nothing in tax. It's time to change that.
