Mid North Coast Legal Centre We provide free legal advice, information & advocacy for people living on the mid north coast of NSW

MNCLC was established in 2011 and is funded by the Community Legal Centres Program administered by Legal Aid NSW. The Centre provides free legal advice, information, referral, and in some cases advocacy for people living in the Mid North Coast region, including Kempsey, Port Macquarie, MidCoast, Nambucca, Bellingen and Coffs Harbour LGAs

We offer a range of legal and related services. Possible services include but are not limited to:

•Legal Information and referral
•Legal Advice
•Advocacy and representation for particularly vulnerable clients
•Community legal education
•Law reform and public policy development and advocacy

🚨 Woolgoolga Missed Out. Again.

For the third funding round running, proposals to bring local legal services to Woolgoolga have not been funded.

While legal assistance funding has been invested across NSW, Woolgoolga residents are still expected to travel elsewhere or rely on remote services to access free legal help.

Access to justice shouldn't depend on your postcode.

👉 If you agree, contact your local MP and ask them to support funding for local legal services in Woolgoolga.

We'll keep fighting for this community.

📢 Had a Centrelink debt between 2003 and 2020 that was linked to your employment income? You could be entitled to a payment of up to $600.

The Federal Government has set up the Income Apportionment Resolution Scheme after it found that it used an unlawful method to calculate some people's social security payments up until the end of 2020.

📍Apparently Woolgoolga is still not on the map.

A funding process focused on unmet legal need and geographic coverage has come and gone.

Yet Woolgoolga remains without a Community Legal Centre and without Legal Aid outreach services.

We'll keep making noise until this gap is recognised and addressed.
