There has been a change of speakers at our conference. Clive Smith will be speaking at our conference. He will be speaking about Allman Hill: How many, and who, are buried there?
According to conventional wisdom, 28 people (mostly convicts) are buried on Allman Hill, the first Colonial burying ground at Port Macquarie. However, no published list names them all, and some names included in published lists are inaccurate. This presentation will focus on research that has unearthed a more accurate record of the number of burials and the names of those buried and the variety of sources explored.

While it's raining it's a good time to sit down with a nice hot chocolate and a good book. To make you feel better about not doing more on your family tree, read a book written about genealogy. No not convict record stories but a good fiction book. Some good authors available in the library are Nathan Dylan Goodwin, MJ Lee and Steve Robinson. Happy reading.☕
