Do you want to learn about how to protect your personal information online?

Join us at 2:30pm on Thursday the 15th of October at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex for a hot drink and biscuit while we watch a live online Be Connected presentation together.

This presentation will why privacy matters online, how to keep your information secure, which impersonation scams to look out for, and where to go for help. The webinar will also cover how and when to safely share your personal information such as your name, email address, and phone number.

This free session for older Australians is hosted by the eSafety Commissioner and introduces the Be Connected website, along with a wide range of simple, practical topics to help you feel more comfortable using your phone, tablet or other devices.
Council staff will be there to watch alongside you, chat through the ideas, and help answer questions in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Reminder that tomorrow, The Shakka Project will host a mental health workshop for people aged 16 and over at 6:00pm at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex. The session will explore lived experience, challenge stigma and stereotypes, and provide practical tools and resources for talking about mental health.

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – PORT MACDONNELL
A section of Milstead Street from Charles Street to Bookey Street in Port MacDonnell will be closed between 7:00am and 11:00am on Thursday 15 October 2026.
The temporary amendment will allow for the use of large heavy machinery required for routine maintenance at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex. Local and emergency access will be created if required during the closure.

Southern Limestone Coast Council is hosting multiple community events throughout October as part of Mental Health Month, aligning with this year’s theme, ‘Find Your Way to Wellbeing’. The program aims to support community wellbeing in practical and inclusive ways, creating opportunities for connection, creativity and open conversations about mental health.

Up and coming events include:

The Shakka Project will host a mental health workshop for people aged 16 and over on Wednesday 14 October, at 6:00pm at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex. The session will explore lived experience, challenge stigma and stereotypes, and provide practical tools and resources for talking about mental health.

The final event will be an Acrylic Pour Workshop at Donovan’s Community Hall on Sunday 25 October from 10:30am. This workshop will offer a welcoming and quiet environment to get creative, ease stress and build confidence, with morning tea provided. ** (please note this workshop is booked out)

Introducing our last DIY craft for the September/October School Holidays; Woven Echidnas!

Come on down to the Port MacDonnell Community Complex this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for some awesome echidna crafts!

No need to book for this craft as it is set up at the DIY table.

We also have a Lego table, Colouring in table, gaming consoles, a pool table, as well as our incredible Maritime History Museum. A small fee applies for entry to the Museum, but we have plenty of kid's scavenger hunts to keep the young ones entertained while looking through.
