Our South Hedland Drop & Go Containers For Change refund collection facility, alongside the Wanangkura Stadium outdoor basketball courts is now open and accepting bags of containers.

This refurbished sea container offers a quick and contact free option to return your 10c containers and to get your refund $$$$ without coming to Wedgefield.

All you have to do is bag your 10c containers, write your member number, name & phone number and drop the labelled bag into the chute.

At the Drop & Go we have free mesh green bags and textas on leads so that you can write all your details for your refund $$$.

Your containers will be collected, counted and refunded via bank transfer.

SATURDAY - Saturday 5th September 2026 7am to 8am - World Cleanup Day & Adopt-A-Spot Clean Up Event meeting at Caltex (formerly Puma) Carpark doing airport side of the Port-South Hedland Rd

All are most welcome to join us for this combined World Cleanup Day & Adopt-A-Spot combined event.

Please wear enclosed footwear, appropriate clothes, hat, sunscreen. We will supply bags, gloves, bottled water.

Today, Care For Hedland was proud to host a number of school-based trainees from Programmed for a corporate busy bee at our South Hedland Community Garden.

10 local trainees assisted with building and replacing raised garden beds, turning the compost, laying wood chip mulch, harvesting and weeding.
