Introducing Paddy .
This week has been a week of lows and highs.
Last week I unfortunately lost Addie. I only had her for a short time but I will always love and remember her … her greeting in the morning, baths, snuggles.
Following this Rami became a very clingy and unhappy birds. Sky was a bit down but not like Rami, and I found the house very quiet.
So yesterday we both went down to the local petshop and this beautiful young Quaker was there … and they really clicked … so I picked her up this morning and she has settled in so well … chatting to Rami and giving me cuddles and kisses already. She has already had a short visit with Sky
I will always love and miss you Addie … but welcome Paddy

Recovery isn’t just a feeling, it’s something we can measure.
Long-term data shows where populations are improving and where continued protection is still essential.
Evidence helps focus effort where it’s needed most.

Some good news – seismic blasting in southern right whale migration and calving grounds has been delayed.

Late last Friday, offshore regulator NOPSEMA once again pushed back a decision on CGG’s plans to conduct seismic blasting for gas off Victoria’s west coast.

The proposed blasting threatens the migration route to the calving grounds of southern right whales and feeding areas of pygmy blue whales, both endangered and highly vulnerable to underwater noise.

Over 14,000 AMCS supporters, alongside local communities and fishers, opposed the project during public consultation, calling for stronger marine protections.

This is a welcome reprieve for local communities and southern right whales, which are making their way to their calving grounds off Warrnambool right now – but the threat remains, and our work is not done

✍️ Email Prime Minister Albanese to urge him to declare a moratorium on seismic blasting our oceans: https://www.marineconservation.org.au/actions/moratorium-on-seismic/
