CEPU SA Delegates from the Whyalla steelworks Joe and Kurt were in Canberra this week to bring the views of our members directly to the Federal Members of Parliament who will deicide the future of the steelworks and their home town.
We also attended the National Press Club to hear our National Secretary Michael Wright and McKell Institute Chief Economist Alison Pennington speak about a new report that makes the case for publicly owned renewable energy to power Australian Industry.
A future made in Australia can only succeed if it is powered by Australia.

Thursday I had the pleasure of visiting CEPU SA members from three depots across the Eyre Peninsula. Wudinna, Streaky Bay and Ceduna! Getting these guys together in the same place at the same time is a great effort and I was so happy it happened! Discussions about workplace rights, wages and conditions dominated and a lot of laughs as well.
Ceduna legend Paul Yendall was unable to attend, so his workmate Brady accepted his 20 year CEPU Membership Certificate instead.
Thankyou for your ongoing service Paul, and thankyou to everyone for making me feel so welcome.

Wednesdays in Cleve!
Today I travelled to the regional community of Cleve SA! A farming community that relies on these Power Industry workers to keep the lights on. As always it was great to catch up with CEPU SA members and discuss how together we can make the Electrical Industry better.
Thankyou for having me!

CEPU SA members live and work regionally throughout SA!
It was my pleasure today to spend time with the members at the SAPN Port Lincoln depot. These workers cover a huge expanse of territory maintaing the power supply for the Eyre Peninsula. It was an extra special visit because I was able to present two members with Membership Certificates.
Stephen Meyers 40 years.
Norm Marks 40 years.
What made it even better is Norm retires this week and we got to say thanks for steering the ship for the next generation. Thankyou for your contribution to the union!!

This Thursday I travelled up the freeway to visit the CEPU SA members at Mount Barker SAPN Depot. I was lucky to be accompanied by CEPU SA State Secretary John Adley and delegate Ashley Brazell.
We had great discussions about PPE, Indicative Task review and the upcoming Enterprise Agreement.
Ash spoke to members about the ITR and how it will affect workers, whilst John discussed worker solidarity. John also presented members with their CEPU SA Membership Certificates. Thankyou to Darwin Domanday 20 years and Michael Parkes 40 years as well as David Berry 40 years! Your service to our union is greatly appreciated.

Our CEPU members at Consolidated Power Projects are about to start their Enterprise Agreement negotiations coming up soon.

We were out visiting the construction division yesterday afternoon at the Tailem bend battery project, discussing and putting together their log of claims.

Our members are switched on, united in solidarity and are just a great group of people.

Well done to everyone for the great discussions and all working together.

Now that's union power! ✊️
