Where would we be without our incredible volunteers?

This National Volunteer Week, we took the opportunity to celebrate the amazing people who generously give their time to support others across our community.

Whether it's helping people access emergency relief, creating social connections through community programs or spending time with residents in our aged care homes, their contribution makes a real difference.

To thank them for everything they do, we hosted a special appreciation lunch.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, care and kindness our volunteers share every day.

What an incredible day at Reconciliation in the West 2026 🖤💛❤️

It was great to see so many people come together to celebrate culture and community.

The day was filled with powerful performances, storytelling, cultural activities and meaningful conversations, creating opportunities for people to learn from one another and celebrate First Nations cultures.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered and helped make the day possible. We were once again proud to partner with Tauondi Aboriginal College, Life Without Barriers and Anglicare SA to deliver this special event.

Days like this are an important reminder that we all have a role to play in Reconciliation.

At just 16, Teleah is using her art to spark conversations about culture, community and reconciliation ❤️🖤💛

The proud Arrernte and Wiradjuri woman has had her artwork selected to represent Reconciliation in the West 2026, with her powerful design bringing this year’s theme “All In” to life.

For Teleah art is more than creativity, it’s a way to express herself, stay connected to her culture and share her story with others.

Every year on 26 May, National Sorry Day acknowledges the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, now known as the Stolen Generations.

It's a time to reflect on our shared history, honour survivors and consider how we can all contribute to healing, understanding and reconciliation.

As part of National Reconciliation Week, join us at Reconciliation in the West this Thursday 28 May from 10am - 2pm for a free community event celebrating culture, connection and the importance of reconciliation.

With your support, we can provide food, warmth and essential support to people facing homelessness and hardship this winter.

A tax-deductible donation to our 2026 Winter Appeal will help South Australians access the practical support they need during one of the toughest times of the year.

Families come in all forms and this week, we’ve been celebrating the people, cultures and connections that make them so special.

We know strong families build strong communities. That’s why our Child, Youth and Family Services provide support, education and advocacy to help families through life’s challenges.

One of the ways we bring people together is through our weekly Intergenerational Playgroup at Charles Sturt Library Service (Ngutungka West Lakes) every Friday, creating space for little ones, parents, carers and older generations to connect.

This week’s session was filled with plenty of smiles and laughter.
