🌞🔋 Supporting a More Sustainable Future 🔋🌞

Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club would like to sincerely thank Redland City Council for their generous support through the Mayor and Councillor Community Benefit Fund Grant.

This funding will contribute to the purchase of a 25.6kWh Solar Battery, which will soon be installed to complement our existing hybrid inverter system.

Once installed, this upgrade will improve our energy efficiency and support the ongoing delivery of important lifesaving services to our community.

We are incredibly grateful for Council’s continued investment in local community organisations and initiatives that help create long-term impact. 🙌

Today, on ANZAC Day 2026, Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club pauses to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and service of all Australians and New Zealanders who have served our nation in times of war, conflict and peacekeeping.
We also proudly recognise and thank the members of our club, past and present, who have served our country over the last 78 years. Your service, commitment and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

If we have unintentionally missed anyone, please accept our sincere apologies and feel free to add their name in the comments so we can continue to honour all who have served.

👏 HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS 👏
What a massive weekend for Point Lookout SLSC!
Across the weekend, our members were spread far and wide, all while continuing to keep our beaches safe at Point Lookout with patrols at Main and Cylinder Beach.
Early Sunday morning, our volunteers were back on deck for two major mainland events:
🔴 Raby Bay Tri Series at Raby Bay in Cleveland
Our water safety crews provided IRBs and boards to support competitors in this fantastic local triathlon event, helping ensure a safe environment for all participants in the swim leg.
🔴 Run Army in Brisbane City CBD
We were incredibly proud to provide 26 volunteers to this large-scale running event and even prouder to be the only SLSQ club represented.
Our team assisted with start and finish line marshalling, course monitoring, and running a major water station for athletes across the 10km, 5km and 2.5km races.
These events not only showcase the versatility and dedication of our members but also play an important role as valuable fundraising opportunities that help support our club operations.
Most importantly, this weekend highlights what makes our club so special! We are a tight-knit, supportive family community that always steps up. Whether it’s patrolling our beaches at Straddie or supporting major events on the mainland, our members continue to go above and beyond.
❤️🤍💙 We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing group of volunteers. Thank you for your time, energy, and commitment, we couldn’t do it without you!

Another huge effort from the Point Lookout SLSC crew at the Aussies Masters events 💪🔥

Leading the charge, Cal dug deep in a seriously tough 2km beach run to take out 1st place 🥇 A gritty race from start to finish, but his focus never wavered—an outstanding performance.

We also had Tim step up for his very first competition, and what a debut it was 👏
Backing up 4th in sprints yesterday with 7th again in flags today—all while managing an injury. Tough, determined, and seriously impressive.

Massive congratulations to all our competitors. Effort, resilience, and club pride on full display ❤️💛

Aussies 2026 🇦🇺 | Youth – Day 2

What a weekend it’s been for our youth crew — early starts, long waits, big smiles and even bigger efforts.

Day 2 saw Anissa take on the 2km beach run, finishing an impressive 16th in a tough field 👏

After a long day on the sand, Lily, Roy, Anissa and Sheldon stepped into the Flag Pit — with Sheldon finishing an outstanding 13th overall 🔥

Results aside, what stood out most was the grit, determination and support these athletes showed for one another across the entire weekend. That’s what Point Lookout is all about ❤️🤍💙

We couldn’t be prouder of this crew — the effort, the attitude and the way you represent our club does not go unnoticed.

AUSSIES 2026 🇦🇺🥇

An incredible achievement on the national stage for PLSLSC, with Sheldon taking out Gold in the Beach Sprints 👏

After a day filled with nerves, pressure, and tough competition, Sheldon showed outstanding composure, determination, and grit when it mattered most. His ability to rise to the occasion is a true reflection of the hard work, dedication, and attention to detail he’s put in all season.

This result doesn’t come easy — it’s built on countless hours of training, commitment, and trust in the process.

We’re incredibly proud to have Sheldon representing our club and showcasing what PLSLSC is all about 💙❤️
