A big thank you to the Redland Foundation for supporting Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club with a $10,000 grant through the 2026 Jeffrey and Geraldine Underhill Grants Program. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

The funding will go towards our new 25.6kWh solar battery, complementing our existing solar system and helping us reduce our electricity costs and improve our power security.

Every dollar we save on running costs means more money we can put back into what matters - lifesaving, our volunteers, Nippers and community programs.

We were very pleased to attend the presentation night at Redlands Sporting Club and officially receive the funding.

Thank you to the Redland Foundation for backing our Club and the work our volunteers do for the community. We really appreciate your support! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

A huge thank you to everyone who made Saturday night's Music Trivia Fundraiser such a fantastic success! πŸŽΆπŸ’™β€οΈ

On behalf of everyone at Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Jacko, Sandra, Maree, Mandy, Tony, Lauren and the entire Bay FM 100.3 team for all of the hard work, planning and dedication that went into organising and hosting such an incredible evening. Your efforts created a fun, welcoming event that brought our community together while raising vital funds for our club and for Bay FM 100.3.

A special thank you also goes to Rebecca Young MP for sponsoring the event and helping make the night possible.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated prizes, volunteered their time, and came along to support the fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, around $7,400 was raised on the night with half of those funds to support the ongoing work of Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club and our volunteer lifesavers.

We truly appreciate the support of our amazing community and everyone who helped make the night such a memorable success. Thank you! β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ„β€β™€οΈ

Congratulations to Our Newest Life Member – Keith Weinert

Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club is proud to announce that Keith Weinert was unanimously awarded Life Membership at the Club's Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

Keith has dedicated 30 seasons of outstanding service to Point Lookout SLSC, contributing more than 2,897 patrol hours and over 3,393 hours of service to the Club. Throughout his time with us, he has served in numerous leadership roles, mentored generations of lifesavers, and has been recognised with Surf Lifesaving's' highest bravery awards for his role in saving multiple lives.

Keith has long been known around the Club as "The Coal Face", a fitting description for someone who is always willing to step up, whether it's patrolling the beach, driving the IRB or jet ski, training members, serving on committees, or quietly helping wherever needed. Keith's dedication, humility and countless contributions over three decades have left an enduring mark on the Club community and will continue to inspire future generations of members.

Congratulations, Keith, on this incredibly well-deserved honour. Thank you for your extraordinary dedication, friendship and service to Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club. We are proud to welcome you as our newest Life Member. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™

πŸŒžπŸ”‹ Supporting a More Sustainable Future πŸ”‹πŸŒž

Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club would like to sincerely thank Redland City Council for their generous support through the Mayor and Councillor Community Benefit Fund Grant.

This funding will contribute to the purchase of a 25.6kWh Solar Battery, which will soon be installed to complement our existing hybrid inverter system.

Once installed, this upgrade will improve our energy efficiency and support the ongoing delivery of important lifesaving services to our community.

We are incredibly grateful for Council’s continued investment in local community organisations and initiatives that help create long-term impact. πŸ™Œ

πŸ‘ HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS πŸ‘
What a massive weekend for Point Lookout SLSC!
Across the weekend, our members were spread far and wide, all while continuing to keep our beaches safe at Point Lookout with patrols at Main and Cylinder Beach.
Early Sunday morning, our volunteers were back on deck for two major mainland events:
πŸ”΄ Raby Bay Tri Series at Raby Bay in Cleveland
Our water safety crews provided IRBs and boards to support competitors in this fantastic local triathlon event, helping ensure a safe environment for all participants in the swim leg.
πŸ”΄ Run Army in Brisbane City CBD
We were incredibly proud to provide 26 volunteers to this large-scale running event and even prouder to be the only SLSQ club represented.
Our team assisted with start and finish line marshalling, course monitoring, and running a major water station for athletes across the 10km, 5km and 2.5km races.
These events not only showcase the versatility and dedication of our members but also play an important role as valuable fundraising opportunities that help support our club operations.
Most importantly, this weekend highlights what makes our club so special! We are a tight-knit, supportive family community that always steps up. Whether it’s patrolling our beaches at Straddie or supporting major events on the mainland, our members continue to go above and beyond.
β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™ We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing group of volunteers. Thank you for your time, energy, and commitment, we couldn’t do it without you!
