SEA-TEMBER: From Norfolk to Queenscliff

SEA-TEMBER is making waves around the world!

Robert Smith MBE, Harbour Master of Wells-next-the-Sea in England, has nominated “Home From The Sea” by Liam Clancy.

Written by Phil Coulter, this haunting song carries the ache of life on the water—the danger, the distance, the loved ones waiting on shore and the fierce hope of seeing someone safely home again.

It’s a deeply fitting choice from Robert, whose life has been shaped by the sea. Alongside his role as Harbour Master, he spent 27 years with the Wells lifeboat, answering the call whenever lives were at risk.

From Queenscliff to Norfolk, the sea continues to connect communities, stories and hearts across the world.

Add “Home From The Sea” to your SEA-TEMBER playlist, then cast your vote for your favourite sea songs!

Links to tonight’s SEA-TEMBER song and book nominations are in the comments.

Fair winds and following seas.

👑 THE ROYAL CHRONICLES

Episode Four: The Lord Returns…

Order has been restored to the Kingdom.

After a suspiciously lengthy tropical sojourn involving palm trees, cocktails and certain companions the Court is still asking questions about, Lord Alwyn of the Lanterns has returned to The Royal. 👑

And this Friday, His Lordship will once again personally oversee the merriment, mischief and distribution of Royal riches.

💰 THE ROYAL PURSE IS GROWING!
Your opportunity to receive The Royal Purse will be drawn at 7PM sharp. Remember, Court Members must be registered by 6PM and present to claim the treasure should their name be called.

And because no Royal gathering survives on riches alone…

🍸 Friday drink specials
🍕 Delicious gourmet pizzas
🧀 Complimentary Royal bar snacks
🎁 Plus fabulous giveaways from our generous local supporters

And, of course, there is the matter of the Secret Royal Code…

🔐 THIS WEEK’S ROYAL CODE: HOMECOMING

Whisper HOMECOMING to the Court and a little Royal reward awaits—but only for the first FIVE people clever enough to utter the secret word.

👑 The Court assembles from 5PM.
💰 The opportunity to win the Royal Purse is drawn at 7PM.

Lord Alwyn is back.

All is as it should be at The Royal…

For now. 👀

Long Live Fridays.
Long Live Friendship.
Long Live The Royal.

SEA-TEMBER — A TRIBUTE TO GIL, HIS BAND & HIS SHED

Gil Allbutt brought people together through music, friendship and his generous spirit. His legacy lives on through the band he loved, the Queenscliff Music Festival and the boat shed that now bears his name.

As Gil would say, “I’m tickled pink!”

This World Maritime Day, Thursday 24 September, step into Gil’s Boat Shed for SEA-TEMBER — an evening of music, maritime stories and community spirit in a truly special setting. Featuring The Sea of Ukes and Shedding the Blues.

Gil’s Hooked on Swing made history as the Queenscliff Music Festival’s longest-running act, performing for nine consecutive years.

Now we want to hear from you.

Which sea song would Gil’s Hooked on Swing have brought to life? Nominate your choice, tell us why and help create the soundtrack for SEA-TEMBER.

Vote for your favourite nomination through the voting link in the comments.

Don’t miss this special night. Save the date, invite your crew and book your tickets now through the SEA-TEMBER event link in the comments.

Curious how your body, your energy, your emotions, your mind, and your inner wisdom are all woven together?

Join me for a 2.5-hour immersive journey through the Panchakosha — the 5 layers of the Self — using movement, breathwork, self-inquiry, and meditation to help you connect more deeply with yourself.

What we’ll explore:
🔸 Annamaya Kosha (physical body) — mindful movement
🔸 Pranamaya Kosha (energy body) — breathwork
🔸 Manomaya Kosha (mental/emotional body) — self-inquiry
🔸 Vijnanamaya Kosha (wisdom body) — meditation
🔸 Anandamaya Kosha (bliss body) — deep relaxation

Midway through, we’ll pause for a warm cup of chai and homemade bliss balls 🍵✨ — a moment to nourish the body before we continue inward.

Whether you’re new to yoga or a long-time practitioner, this workshop offers a gentle but profound space to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover a sense of wholeness.

📅 this Sunday 30th August

🕐 2pm - 4:30pm (2.5 hours)
