Another wonderful garden at Jondaryan open this weekend.

Lyn’s lovely garden is an eclectic mix of old rustic pieces and hardy garden plants including geraniums, succulents, bromeliads, bougainvilleas and many more. The Wilga trees provide a wonderful back drop and canopy for shade loving plants.

Thank you Lyn 💐

Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not take a trip and visit the gardens of Jondaryan and Oakey.
Lyn & Peter Kuhl - 2082 Oakey-Cooyar Rd - Oakey
The garden consists of hardy drought tolerant plants. Geraniums, salvias, bromeliades, durantas, and succulents create a tapestry of different colours and textures.
Weathered gates and troughs, old farm machinery and rustic relics from the past are repurposed as garden ornaments reminiscent of days gone by.
Shade loving plants find their home in bush houses and under trees protected from the summer sun and winter frosts.
The result is a practical yet soulful space which brings joy to all who visit.

Set high on the hill opposite St Anne’s Anglican Church this garden was established by Mrs Ruttledge with the help of a very good friend of Enda Walling, Jocelyn Brown. The planning and plantings of this garden are superb with drifts of roses, tumbling bougainvillea, walls of perennials and shrubs all backed by the magnificent views across the plain.

Tanya’s garden is relatively new and still establishing. It features a stunning ornamental grape vine that drapes her veranda, a lovely scented Larmaque rose growing over an arbour, a mix of native grasses and exotic plants that cope with the at times hot and dry conditions including roses, bougainvilleas, agaves and trachlospernum jasmine just to name a few.

Tanya has incorporated a lovely rustic swing, fire pit and timber bridge into her garden.

Thank you for sharing your garden with us Tanya! We look forward to seeing it as it establishes for you and your family.

Our group visited four beautiful gardens outside Miles on Tuesday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the gardens.

At Judi’s garden we enjoyed her lovely exotic trees including tropical birches, ornamental pears, olives, kawa poplar, chinese tallow wood, and a very impressive orchard. Our group wandered the carefully tendered lawns, as we took in the neatly trimmed formal hedges, secret room, flowers and roses, productive vegetable garden, lovely garden ornaments and found many restful places to sit.

Thank you Judi, we had a wonderful time.

We were blessed to visit the very lovely, shaded garden of Jane and Toby.

The garden is full of lovely deciduous ornamental trees including a beautiful array of pears and plums. A magnificent macadamia nut tree is a feature in the lawn. The lovely roses, purple salvias, an assortment of perennials are enclosed within neatly clipped privet hedges, and grassed walkways.!There is a wonderful hedge of Mutabalis roses lining the entrance to their house.

The garden has a collection of rustic, country animal figurines made from bits and bobs and a series of beautiful bar benches.

The native gum trees, and nearby dam provide a lovely backdrop to the garden and Toby’s beehives.

Thank you for sharing your garden with us Jane and Toby.

Yesterday, we were blessed to visit four marvellous gardens in Miles.

Bethel is the home of Lois and Richard. For over 30 years Lois’s passion for antique roses is such that she has around 360 in her sprawling country garden. Her collection of antique roses includes some difficult to find roses by our Australian rosarian, Alistair Clark. Lois has found the antique roses perform better in the hot and dry conditions faced by gardeners in her area.

Thank you Lois and Richard for sharing your garden and country hospitality with us.

Our third garden was the beautiful garden of Susan. A gorgeous country garden of perennials, roses, graceful grasses, bougainvilleas divided into rooms by trimmed privet hedges. The garden also features a fenced, vegetable garden and a fragrant quis qualis climber, not often seen.

Everyone enjoyed their visit to your gorgeous garden Susan. Thank you.
