Fifty years is worth celebrating and celebrate we did on Wednesday. Over 60 people came together to celebrate 50 years of Meals on Wheels in Pittsworth. The lunch was a time to celebrate the great memories of a service that provides much to the town and that has maintained a caring group of volunteers across the years. The two course roast lunch and dessert was prepared and donated by Shane and Tracy Smith from our local IGA. Their generosity is nothing short of overwhelming. The birthday cake was cut by Ann Stallmann and Jo Saal, who have both volunteered for almost 40 years. Here's to another 50 years!

This morning Pittsworth Meals on Wheels held its 50th Annual General Meeting.
After the meeting morning tea was enjoyed by all who attended and we were reminded by our members of the important role Meals On Wheels plays in our community. It is so much more than a meal delivered daily. The knock on our client's door is also a welfare check, a chat and a friendly hug when needed. You don't get that in a polystyrene box left on your doorstep!

On Wednesday August 27 we celebrated National Meals on Wheels Day with a morning tea for our volunteers, committee, clients and supporters. The morning was attended by CEO of QLD Meals on Wheels, Evan Hill, Regional Manager, Kath Nielsen, TRC Councillor Carol Taylor and Brad Jones and Wayne Saal from Beauaraba Living.
