ATTN QLD families: We’d love you to join us for our Annual Picnic in the Park!

On Sunday, 16 August we will meet up with members of our EB community in Grinstead Park, Brisbane for a relaxed late morning get together.

If you’re able to come along, we’d love to see you there. Enjoy your picnic brunch / early lunch / nibbles / catch up and spend time in the lovely surroundings of Grinstead Park.

Our Picnic in the Park meet ups are an informal way to spend a late winter Sunday, with the opportunity to connect and catch up with other EB families. There is a shaded play park for children and places to sit and relax. The park also has good accessibility along paved flat trails.

Bubbles and Butterflies luncheon is back for 2026!

We're excited to welcome 2025 Melbourne Cup and 2025 Caulfield Cup winning jockey Jamie Melham as our special guest speaker and Trackside presenter and trainer Jayne Ivil as MC.

Jamie Melham is the first jockey to ride 100 winners in a Melbourne Metropolitan racing season. In 2020 and 2021 she was the leading female jockey in the world. She is the second female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup (after Michelle Payne in 2015) and the first to win the Caulfield Cup.

In late May, several of our EB dads came together and enjoyed our annual Dad’s Respite trip to Byron Bay. While the nights were chilly, the days were beautiful and sunny, making a wonderful getaway for our dads. The trip included many fun activities – including barefoot bowls, a visit to Minyon Falls, massages, meals out together, swimming despite the cooler weather and walks along the beach.

This five-day break not only provided the dads with a chance to relax, but it also allowed them to connect and share stories with other supportive dads who understand the realities of caring for a child with EB.

We were also pleased to see a few new faces this year, and we look forward to welcoming more EB dads next year.

A huge thank you to Byron Lux Beach Houses of Byron for their support with accommodation, and to all our generous donors for making our Family Support initiatives like these possible 💙
