The October Monthly Meeting of the Pitt Town Progress Association will be held tomorrow night, Monday the 12th of October 2026 at the Pitt Town Sporties Club.

The meeting will include a brief update on the Pitt Town Bypass, Fernadell Park Sporting Fields, and other community infrastructure items.

Why not give yourselves a night off and have dinner at Bistro 139 at the Sporties Club before attending the meeting. Special thanks to the Pitt Town & District Sports Club for their continued support.

Thanks to Hawkesbury Council’s maintenance team, who have responded quickly to repairing the recently vandalised toilet block at Bona Vista Park.
The HCC maintenance crew organised temporary repairs yesterday to make the area safe and returned today to complete the final repair work.
Whilst we all wish repairing senseless vandalism such as this was unnecessary, we appreciate the speed and professionalism of the HCC Maintenance Team.

Pitt Town ANZAC Memorial Lawn Care Update.

The Pitt Town Progress Association’s ANZAC Day Sub-Committee would like to acknowledge and thank Brenton Binns from our local Jim’s Mowing Service.

Brenton and his son Mason have generously organised the mowing and top dressing of our ANZAC Memorial Lawn.

Brenton & Mason were assisted by PTPA volunteers, Steve Hoad & Chris Bell.

Brenton and his Jim’s Mowing service has offered to undertake the routine care of our ANZAC Memorial Lawn as his contribution to the community.

Senseless Vandalism of Bona Vista Park Toilets.

This morning we were advised that the Community owned Toilet Block at Bona Vista Park was the target of mindless vandalism overnight (evening of the 25th September 2026).

This is so disappointing as this toilet block only exists as the result of significant fund raising efforts by the Pitt Town Progress Association, Community Donations coupled with a 50% contribution by Hawkesbury City Council.

This toilet block was put in place to make Bona Vista Park a family friendly space for parents and their children to play and enjoy the park.

With so much commentary on social media about the ever increasing cost of our local Council Rates, it is worth noting that council is forced to spend Millions of dollars every year repairing senseless vandalism parks and community facilities such as this.

The wall of the toilet block has been kicked in below the electronic time locks and there is black tyre marks evident inside the toilet block, suggesting that at least 1 E-Bike was involved.

Parents whose children were not home last night might like to enquire what they may know of this.

Reopening of Old Pitt Town Road is getting closer.!

The final asphalt surface is being laid on Old Pitt Town Road between the new roundabout and Eldon Street.

The following update has been provided by Transport for NSW:

“The NSW Government is continuing work on the Pitt Town bypass to take traffic, including heavy vehicles, out of the town centre to make travel safer and more efficient for all road users.

What work are we doing?
Work includes:
- new line-marking of the new northern roundabout and Old Pitt Town Road
- removal of barriers.

We will be carrying out work near the intersection of Old Pitt Town Road and Cattai Road on Tuesday 29 September 2026, weather permitting.

If weather or other reasons prevent this work from happening on that date, we will reschedule the work to be carried out on the following night, Wednesday 30 September 2026.

The work will be completed from 7pm to 5am.

No night work will be carried out on Saturdays or Sundays.

The attached photo was taken today. The supporting documents for the planned night-work line marking is also attached.

Old Pitt Town Road is scheduled to reopen next week on Wednesday 30th September.

60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan Luncheon.

Taskforce Veteran is hosting a luncheon in recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan.

The Luncheon will be hosted at the restored Historic Scheyville Army Officer Training Camp within the Scheyville National Park.

Tickets are $110 each and are inclusive of a 3-course meal, beverages and entertainment.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend, as the Scheyville Army Camp and Officer Training Facility has a long association with the Pitt Town Community.

Tickets can be purchased via the QR Code that features on the attached invite.
