Pinnacle Cricket Club is seeking volunteers for one of our major fundraisers at the Gargett Rodeo Saturday 30th May 🤠🐂

After a massive cricket season, the Pinnacle boys have officially moved into off-season training… swapping cricket balls for bulls and the nets for the rodeo arena 😂

We are helping out at the Gargett Rodeo bar from 3pm onwards and are looking for volunteers to lend a hand during the afternoon and night. Even if you can only spare a couple of hours it all helps the club.

No RSA? No worries 👍
We also need help with:
• Restocking eskies
• General bar support
• Pouring spirits
• Keeping the Pinnacle boys away from trying to ride the bulls

The club has had a terrific season on and off the field and these fundraisers play a huge part in helping keep the club going strong heading into next year.

Kick things off with a social catch up before a friendly Lawn Bowls showdown from 2pm. No experience needed, just bring yourself and a bit of competitive spirit.

Later in the afternoon we’ll roll into our Senior Presentation, recognising the season that was. Expect a mix of the serious, the well-earned, and a few that might raise a laugh.

What a day at Harrup Park Field 1. The Dixon Homes T20 Grand Final delivered everything you could want in a decider and the Pinnacle boys held their nerve to get the chocolates, chasing down Brothers’ 8/131 to finish 7/132 with 9 balls to spare and claim the title by 3 wickets.

After being sent into the field, the Pinnacle attack went to work early and never really let Brothers get away. The bowlers shared the workload nicely, with Matt Goody again proving why his off spin is such a weapon, finishing with 2 wickets for just 17 runs from his 4 overs. For the second game in a row Goody was on a hat-trick, showing he clearly enjoys finals cricket.

The fielding effort was elite. Kepler Bourke was an absolute machine in the field, involved in multiple run outs and pulling off one screamer that had the crowd buzzing. The pressure in the field kept Brothers in check and a strong all-round effort meant Pinnacle restricted them to 131 from their 20 overs, a competitive total but one the boys believed they could chase.

The chase got off to the perfect start with Goody and Kep coming out firing, scoring at better than 10 an over early to get Pinnacle’s nose in front and put the pressure straight back on Brothers.

From there Justin Ware anchored the innings superbly, batting through the middle overs and finishing 39 not out, controlling the chase with calm batting and picking the right moments to score. Warey’s all-round performance with bat, ball and in the field saw him deservedly named Man of the Match by the umpires.

With the game coming down to the final few overs, the skipper came in to help finish things. Captain Damo stepped up and smashed a drive through the off side for four, sealing the win with 9 balls remaining and sending the Pinnacle supporters into celebration mode.

A massive thank you to our sponsors and supporters. Seeing 30–40+ Pinnacle supporters at the sports bar at Harrup Park cheering the lads home was something special and makes these moments even better.

The celebrations didn’t stop after the final ball either. After wrapping up at Harrup Park the boys and supporters made their way back to the Pinnacle clubhouse, where the celebrations rolled well into the early hours of this morning. After falling just short a few months ago in the 40 over grand final, it was pretty special to finally get the job done.

This season has also been historic for the club with two maiden titles:

A huge achievement for a small club built on community, mateship and plenty of hard work.

After a big win in last night’s semi-final, the Pinnacle 2nd Grade boys are back at it this afternoon with the ultimate prize on the line. The green machine rolls onto the main arena at Harrup Park Field 1 to take on Brothers in what promises to be a cracking T20 Grand Final.

Last night’s win showed exactly what this side is about. A team full of all-rounders, plenty of energy in the field, and a batting line-up capable of getting the job done from top to bottom. The boys will be looking to carry that momentum straight into today.

Captain Damien Russell will lead the side alongside a strong lineup featuring Justin Ware, Kepler Bourke, Josin Jose, Sam Fortesque, Shanil Devassykutty, Peter Sturma, Jack McLeod, Matt Goody, John Gauci and Shaun Fisher, with Travis Joblin ready to step in as 12th man.

T20 finals cricket always delivers a bit of chaos, a few big hits, some sharp bowling spells, and probably the odd moment that raises the heart rate. Exactly how Pinnacle likes it.

Playing on the main field at Harrup Park doesn’t happen every week, so it would be great to see plenty of green shirts around the hill and the boundary cheering the boys on.

🏏 PINNACLE 2ND GRADE – INTO THE GRAND FINAL! 🏏

The Pinnacle 2nd Grade boys are through to the Grand Final after a heart-stopping 2 run win over Walkerston in the semi final tonight at Harrup Park.

Batting first, Pinnacle posted 5/121 from the 15 overs, led by a brilliant knock from Kepler Bourke who smashed 55 (44) and rightly earned Man of the Match honours. A classy innings under pressure that set the platform for the total.

He was well supported by Matt Goody (27) as the boys built a competitive score on a tricky wicket.

Walkerston gave it everything in the chase but the Pinnacle bowling unit held their nerve. Matt Goody (2 wickets) and Peter Sturma (1 wicket) were key contributors, with the whole attack doing their job to restrict Walkerston to 3/119. A big finish also by Josin Jose with the clutch last over!!!

A special mention to Matt Goody, voted Players’ Player for his strong all-round performance in the semi final.

Now it all comes down to tomorrow.

Pinnacle Cricket Club – 2nd Grade T20 Semi Final Preview

Finals cricket for the T20 competition has arrived and the Pinnacle 2nd Grade boys have given themselves a shot at the big dance, finishing the rain-interrupted season in 3rd place and booking a semi final clash tonight against Walkerston.

There is a bit of history behind this one. Walkerston got the chocolates in the 40-over Grand Final back in December, so there will be no shortage of motivation for the green and gold tonight. A semi final under lights is the perfect stage for a bit of redemption.

Due to field availability the game gets underway at the slightly unusual time of 8.45pm at Harrup Park Field 3. With the late start and the format shortened to 15 overs a side, it may be less about pre-game warm ups and more about who packed the Red Bulls and who can still see straight by 10pm.

Captain Damien Russell leads a side stacked with flexibility. The team sheet reads like a list of players who can do a bit of everything, with plenty of all-round options giving Pinnacle the ability to adapt quickly in a shortened match. In T20 cricket that versatility can make all the difference.

The batting line-up features plenty of firepower and also plently of all pace options with the ball looking to keep Walkerston under pressure and give Pinnacle the edge in what is expected to be a tight contest.

If the boys can get the job done tonight, Brothers await in Saturday’s final on Harrup Park 1, so there is plenty on the line.

Grab a coffee, maybe a Red Bull, and get down to Harrup Park Field 3 tonight at 8.45pm to support the lads as they chase a place in the final.

Huge congratulations to Pinnacle Cricket Club on their first-ever junior premiership 🏆🤩 🏏💚

Most of these boys have been together for five years, with a few new pieces added this season—and what a year it became. They truly came together as a team, finishing 11–1 and closing the season with an incredible 10 wins in a row.

So proud of their hard work, heart, character, and the mateship they’ve built along the way. A special achievement and a moment these boys (and their families) will never forget. 💙👏
