Pinnacle Cricket Club Pinnacle Cricket Club At Pinnacle we value competitiveness, inclusion, sportsmanship and mateship.

Pinnacle Cricket Club was formed in the early 1960's and played in the pioneer valley cricket competition until 1991 when it joined the Mackay Cricket Association. Training Information: Training sessions in the Summer Season are held at Harrup Park training nets on Thursday’s from 4.30pm and Mirani State High School nets on Friday afternoons from 4pm. Competition: Games are played in the One Day format at Pinnacle, Mirani, Harrup Park & Queens Park on a Saturday or Sunday afternoons in the Summer Season.

Not quite the result for Pinnacle ABC Heavy Engineering 3rd Grade team in their season opener at Great Barrier Reef Arena, going down to Airlie Beach by 34 runs, but plenty of positives to take from the first hit-out of 2026/27.

After losing the toss, Pinnacle were sent into the field and Airlie Beach put together 7/211 from their 35 overs. The wickets were shared around, with Shaun Fisher taking 2/34 and Josin Kochupurackal Jose picking up 2/11 from his three overs.

Chasing 212, Pinnacle had a few starts but couldn’t quite put together the partnership needed to get over the line, finishing on 177 from 33.2 overs. Richard Skinner led the way with 32, while Will Fisher made a very handy 32 in his first ever 3rd Grade game.

A pretty special day for the Fisher family as well, with Will playing his first senior game alongside his dad Shaun. Shaun grabbed two wickets and Will chipped in with 32, so there might be a bit of competition around the dinner table over who had the better day! 😂🏏

🏏 4TH GRADE | ROUND 1 WRAP-UP 🏏

Great to have the Pinnacle Inspec Industries 4th Grade lads back on the park yesterday, taking on Sarina at home to kick off season 2026/27.

Some things change and some things don't. We rolled straight from 2025 into 2026 by losing the toss and being sent into the field! 😂 Sarina's strong top order got away to a good start, helped by a few chances going down and a few too many leg-side wides. Riley Bird bowled really well up front, before a much better combined effort after drinks helped pull things back and restrict Sarina to 225.

After a drink, a reset and plenty of optimism, the run chase didn't quite begin according to plan, with Chris Boshoff departing first ball of the innings. 😬 Fossil and Andrew Miles steadied things for a while before Fossil departed, then Miles was removed by an absolute screamer at slip.

A quick 4 wickets for 1 run followed and suddenly at 6/46, thoughts may have started turning towards an early b**r. 🍺

But that's where the Pinny fight kicked in. Vineeth and Hayden Prout dug in and faced 84 balls between them, showing plenty of guts and making Sarina work hard for their wickets. Jijo George also finished things off with a nice boundary and gave everyone a glimpse that he might have earned himself a promotion up the order next week!

Plenty to work on. Seven dropped catches and the wides certainly didn't make life easy, but that's cricket. The most important part of 4th Grade is that everyone had a crack, supported their mates and had plenty of fun doing it.

Wins are great, but enjoying your cricket and enjoying the people you're playing it with is what 4th Grade at Pinnacle is all about.

A cracking way to kick off the 2026/27 season, with Pinnacle KBT Hire 2nd Grade Team putting together a strong all-round performance to defeat Souths at Abbott Park.

Batting first, Pinnacle posted 7/264 from our 40 overs, with the day belonging to Kepler Bourke. Kepler carried his bat for a brilliant 101 not out from 104 balls, including 11 boundaries. And he certainly made us wait for it! Sitting on 93 heading into the final two balls of the innings, Kepler crunched consecutive fours from the last two balls of the game to bring up his hundred! 💯🔥 What a way to get there!

Kepler had great support from Matt Goody, who made an excellent 55 from 63 balls, the pair putting on 121 for the opening wicket and setting up the innings beautifully. Peter Sturma added 24, Jack Torrens made 18 and Justin Ware chipped in with a quick 12 from 8 before the skipper wandered out late for a very important 10 not out from 7. 😂

With 264 on the board, the bowlers took over. Souths were dismissed for 83 from 28 overs, giving Pinnacle a convincing 181-run victory.

The wickets were shared around, with Damien Russell taking 3/6 from 5 overs and Matt Goody 3/13 from 4. Ebin PK on debut was outstanding with 1/8 from 5 overs including a maiden, while James Cross picked up 1/23 and Justin Ware 1/11.

A big thank you to Jackson at JHMS for getting behind the club. When we spoke with Jackson about Pinnacle, he was more than happy to support a rural sporting club and help us continue building cricket in the Pioneer Valley.

🏏💚💛 CRICKET IS BACK AT PINNACLE! 💛💚🏏

After a long off-season, the uniforms are ready, the excuses are already being prepared, and the Pinnacle boys are back into it for Round 1 of the 2026/27 season!

All three senior teams hit the park this weekend:
- 2nd Grade taking on Souths at Abbott Park on Saturday
- 3rd Grade facing Airlie Beach at Harrup Park on Sunday
- 4th Grade at home against Sarina on Saturday

Plenty of familiar faces, a few new ones and probably a bit of rust to shake off! 😂 If you’re around this weekend, get down to one of the grounds, enjoy some local cricket and cheer on the green and yellow.
