Yesterday, the team from the Pingelly Community Resource Centre and Library had the absolute pleasure of joining Pingelly PS for their annual Book Fair!

If there’s one thing about the CRC team, it’s that we are always up for a fun time. There was nothing better than seeing the room fill with laughter and watching so many faces light up as the students recreated their favourite stories and characters and as our customers walk through our doors.

To wrap it up in the perfect words of Dr. Seuss:

"You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back & relax, all you need is a book." 📚❤️

A huge thank you to Pingelly PS for inviting us to be a part of such a wonderful day.

👉Have your say on the future of country health research👈

WA Country Health Service is inviting consumers, carers and community to take part in an online Community Conversation. This session is an opportunity to share what matters most to you when it comes to improving health services and outcomes for people living in regional and remote WA. Your insights will help shape future research and innovation priorities for country health services.

Event details:
🗓️Date: Wednesday 17 June 2026
⏰Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (AWST)
Location: Online (Zoom link provided after registration)
Format: Online community conversation with facilitated discussion
Registrations close: 27 May 2026

What is this Community Conversation about?

This online Community Conversation gives people living in regional, rural and remote Western Australia the opportunity to talk about:

👉Their experiences accessing health services
👉The health issues that matter most to their communities
👉Where research and innovation could make the biggest difference to country health care

What you share will directly inform the WA Country Health Service Research and Innovation Priority Setting Framework, ensuring future research is guided by real community needs and lived experience.

The conversation will be facilitated by the CCIProgram – WA Health Translation Network (WAHTN) and informed by a short pre-event survey.

Who can take part?

We welcome participation from:

👉Consumers who use WA Country Health Service services
Carers
👉Community members living in regional, rural or remote Western Australia
👉People with lived experience of accessing country health services
👉You do not need any research experience to take part. We are simply interested in hearing your perspective.

By attending, you will have a direct voice in shaping future health research priorities, help ensure research and innovation focus on what matters most to country communities and contribute to improving health services and outcomes across regional Western Australia

Honorariums will be provided in line with WA Health policy.

How to get involved:
👉 Register by 12th June 2026 – please submit the EOI form Here: https://cciprogram.org/events_training/wa-country-health-service-community-conversation/ at the bottom of this page and complete the short pre-event survey here: Pre-event survey

Once registered, you will receive the Zoom link and further event information.

There was a strong sense of community at the Pingelly Community Garden recently as locals gathered for a National Volunteer Week Communi-Tea celebration hosted by Pingelly CRC.
With 42 people attending, the afternoon was an opportunity to recognise and thank the volunteers who contribute so much to community life in Pingelly. Guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea thanks to the Pingelly Community Garden members, who generously hosted in their beautiful garden and prepared the delicious food.
Thanks to Shire of Pingelly Shire President Jackie McBurney for addressing attendees, acknowledging the many volunteers who dedicate their time to local groups, organisations and emergency services throughout the community.
Volunteers are the backbone of regional towns, helping keep clubs running, supporting community events and providing essential services. Without volunteers, many groups and services simply would not exist.
This event was proudly supported through National Volunteer Week funding from Volunteering WA and Lotterywest, helping communities across Western Australia celebrate the invaluable contribution volunteers make every day. Thank you to the Pingelly Community Garden Inc. for their wonderful hospitality!

To every volunteer in our community — thank you for all that you do.
