It’s National Volunteer Week and here at Gympie South RFB we are proud to stand alongside more than 27000 other volunteers across Queensland who put their hand up and get out there to support and give back to their communities.
To those who give up their family time, weekends, holidays and sleep to help those in need at any given time, we thank you. You play such an important role in your community and you do it all for no pay. To be able to give without receiving is a wonderful trait and that’s exactly what volunteers from all walks of life and across all organisations, happily do each and every day. Also, to the families of those who volunteer, thank you for your patience, understanding, care and support. You probably underestimate how valued your role is 💕
To our crew at Gympie South RFB, stand up and take a bow 👏👏 We are proud of each and every one of you and you are all an integral piece of what makes our brigade work. Without you, we wouldn’t be us! For your tireless efforts, quick responses, dedication and commitment, fun and banter, we THANK YOU 🙏🏻❤️

Today on International Firefighters Day, we take the time to thank our brigade members here at Gympie South RFB and all Rural Fire Brigades for their time, effort and dedication ❤️

They play an important role in protecting and keeping our communities safe and protected during floods, fires, rescues and also with the mitigation of fire prevention and control.

We also thank our career firefighters who assist and provide our brigades with guidance and support.

Thank you for all you do and for keeping us safe❤️

Members of Gympie South Rural Fire Brigade commemorate all those service men and women who have served and continue to serve for our country and who have sacrificed their lives for the freedoms that we have today. With a spirit of gratitude and hearts filled with pride we honour them.
We will remember them.
Lest we Forget.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Today we pause to honour the brave men and women who served, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We also pause to honour the courage and commitment to all those who continue to serve in the Australian Defence Force.

To the many QFD personnel with ties to defence, thank you for your unwavering commitment to serving your communities. Your courage and generosity is appreciated.

A number of volunteer firefighters from around the Wide Bay Burnett region took part in a Leadership course over the weekend.
Gympie South RFB are proud to have two of our firefighters included in this component of the Crew Leader Course which sees the participants learning to become Level 1 Incident Controllers.
Well done to Lewis and B’Jae for their commitment and dedication 👏
