Well done Cobalt.

Last week, Cobalt, a Venturer Scout from 1st Picnic Point Scout Group, Scouts NSW, had the privilege of representing his local electorate of Banks at National Youth Parliament 2026 in Canberra.

Joining 150 high school students from every federal electorate across Australia, Cobalt took part in a five-day program featuring simulated parliamentary debates, workshops with parliamentary leaders and real-world policy challenges.

The experience provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen his leadership skills, deepen his understanding of government and policymaking, and proudly represent the voices of young people in our community.

A special highlight of the week was meeting Her Excellency Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Chief Scout of Australia, both at Parliament House and Government House.

We’re incredibly proud of Cobalt for representing Scouts Australia and our local community with leadership, enthusiasm and a commitment to making a difference.

Today is World Scout Day! Congratulations to the six 1st Picnic Point leaders and adult supporters who have been acknowledged in this year’s Scouts Australia Adult Recognition Awards for their amazing and fabulous service to Scouting, and to the young people of our community.

Members of 1st Picnic Point Scout Group are excited to be performing in the Kirrawee Gang Show, a fantastic showcase of music, comedy, dance, and theatrical talent.

It was a busy weekend for 1st Picnic Point, with Adventurous Journeys being undertaken by both our Joey and Cub Unit.

An Adventurous Journey is part of a Scouts Peak Award, where they plan and lead a small group of their peers on a human powered adventure; with the support of their leaders.

Today 1st Picnic Point Scouts paid our respects to all our service men and women.

Our members attended the Padstow RSL dawn service and were joined by members of 2nd Panania Scouts for the Revesby Workers Club ANZAC Day march and service.
