DEMERGER - CGRC PUBLIC INQUIRY COMMISIONERS ADDITIONAL HEARINGS 18th FEB (Gundagai) & 19 FEB (Cootamundra)
Many of you will have received an email similar to the one below. TODAY the 11th FEB is the due date for replies. We appreciate the commissioners setting a time aside for the hearings and look forward to finally moving on the demerger granted in 2022 (Picture as reminder)
We did note that the offer to speak has only been offered at Cootamundra and not Gundagai. This seems counterproductive and, if we are honest, a little restrictive especially when the majority of people speaking have historically been from Gundagai. It feels that once again, we are being disadvantaged due to the ongoing issues resulting from the merger.
If you wish to speak but are unable to attend the Cootamundra hearing, we strongly encourage you to share your concerns by responding directly to the email the OLG provided.
We hope to see you all on the 18th at 2:00 PM at the Gundagai District Services Club for what we hope will be the final hearing before we proceed with the Demerger.
Dear Community Member
Following the receipt of updated information from Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council and your written submission, the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council Public Inquiry Commissioners are under taking additional hearings on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 February 2025.
The Chair would like to extend an invitation to you, if you have any additional information to provide, to make an oral presentation on 19 February 2025 at the Cootamundra Ex-Servicemen’s & Citizens Memorial Club from 11.00am for approximately 5 mins. The hearings will commence at 9.30am, with community members allocated time commencing at approximately 11.00am.
You are also invited to attend the hearing on Tuesday 18 February at the Gundagai District Services Club from 2.00pm as an observer.
Could you please advise your decision and RSVP by 11 February 2025? Many of you will have received an email from the Office of Local Government inviting you to speak or attend another inquiry for the Demerger.
