REGISTRATION IS OPEN

If athletes would like to participate in our summer road walks season, or compete for WARWC at strive, the link is in comments.

Remember, you must register prior to coming to a Sunday walk.

We look forward to welcoming our athletes THIS SUNDAY for our winter trophy presentation.

Perry Lakes Reserve
7:30am -10km and 5km
8:00am- 3km, 2km, 1km

The presentation will happen at the conclusion of the events.

BBQ and drinks supplied. Please bring something to sit on.
RSVP- please RSVP for the link in the comments NO LATER THAN THURSDAY 15 October, 9pm.

WORLD MASTERS
The last few weeks have seen Mel and Lynne in Daegu, South Korea at the World Masters Championships.

Walking these distances in a short time is never an easy feat but the weather at Daegu threw everything it had at the athletes and tested every fiber of their being.

Mel did 10km, 20km and 5000m.
She sadly withdrew from the 10km at the 7km mark. She was in bronze medal position but the heat got the better of her.

Assuring the first aid people she will be back to race and learning lessons from that race she managed to get silver in the 20km and 5000m races.

Lynne was very busy with her role as Exective Vice President for World Masters. She raced in the 5000m for 4th place. An incredible effort as she got silver in high jump a few days prior and the competition was held 2 months later, she would've been in the 85 age group.

Congratulations to Mel and Lynne.
Both ladies say it was the most trying conditions they have ever raced in.

LITTLE ATHLETICS NATIONALS

We had 5 club members make their way over to Brisbane to compete at Australian Little Athletics Nationals.

Congratulations to Hudson, Tayte, Rahni, Mackenzie and Hannah.

We hope you enjoyed the experience, learnt big lessons, met new friends and hopefully it puts a fire in your belly to continue to train hard!

Next stop… junior nationals!

GREEN AND GOLD DEBUT FOR JOHN

John has raced in Brazil overnight, in his first appearance representing Australia. Sadly he was disqualified, however he received bronze as part of the Australian team score!

John, we are beyond proud of you. Who would’ve thought the young man in the right picture would be the person and athlete you are now?

… we all knew, even back then!

We can’t wait to see what’s next for you John!
