Young Engineers Perth, Greater Metro

Young Engineers Perth, Greater Metro e² Young Engineers Perth, Greater Metro provides knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) basics through the use of LEGO®.

Welcome to e² Young Engineers Greater Metro! We are extremely excited to offer e² Young Engineers® programs to the Greater Metro Perth area and beyond! e² Young Engineers® programs include after-school enrichment classes, pre-school classes, summer camps, birthday parties and special events where children are given an opportunity to LEARN while having FUN building with the world’s favorite buildi

ng block – LEGO®! Our programs utilize an EDUTAINMENT (education + entertainment) approach, transforming the learning process into a game while introducing children to theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Life Skills and Mathematics (STEALM). e² Young Engineers started in Perth in 2015 covering mostly south suberbs of Perth. Over the past year we have had hundreds of calls and request from other suburbs, so e² Young Engineers Greater Metro Perth started in the above areas since July 2016. Over the past few days, we have had hundreds of calls from parents and guardians inquiring about our programmes. We work with many schools and several centres throughout the area to provide our children an opportunity to experience these wonderful programs firsthand. We invite you to explore our website and learn more about what makes e² Young Engineers® programs the best enrichment program you could provide your young loved ones.

What a wonderful way to start the morning! ☀️

I had the pleasure of having a meaningful conversation with Neelima this morning about a topic very close to my heart — STEM for everyone.

We spoke about how STEM is not just about science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It is about curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, asking questions, experimenting and having the confidence to find solutions.

My own connection with STEM started from watching craftsmanship and technology around me, and today I have the privilege of seeing that same curiosity come alive in young minds. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching a child build, experiment, make a mistake, try again and proudly say, “I figured it out!”

I strongly believe STEM should be accessible to every child, regardless of their background, gender or where they begin their learning journey.

Thank you, Neelima, for such an engaging conversation and for giving me the opportunity to share my STEM journey and passion.

Here’s to inspiring more curious minds, courageous thinkers and future problem-solvers! 🌏💡

One of the most important parts of every Young Engineers Greater Metro Perth STEM Club session happens before our students even begin building. We gather together for a meaningful discussion about the engineering challenge ahead.

Why?

Because I don't just want my students to build a model—I want them to understand why it works.

Together, we explore the engineering concepts, mechanisms, forces, gears, motion, and real-world applications behind each project. We ask questions. We share ideas. We make predictions. Sometimes we even disagree—and that's where the best learning begins.

As an educator, these conversations are incredibly valuable. They allow me to understand each child's interests, prior knowledge, confidence, and problem-solving approach. I can see who is ready to lead, who needs encouragement, and who is quietly thinking of an incredible solution.

When children understand the thinking before the building, they don't simply follow instructions—they become engineers.

When challenges arise during the build, they don't immediately ask for the answer. Instead, they pause, analyse, test different ideas, and discover solutions themselves. That is where resilience grows. That is where creativity flourishes. That is where true STEM learning happens.

For me, success isn't measured by how perfectly a model is built. It's measured by the excitement in a child's eyes when they say, "I know why this works!" or "Can I make it even better?"

Those moments remind me that STEM education is about so much more than robotics or engineering. It's about nurturing curious minds, confident thinkers, and young people who aren't afraid to ask questions, solve problems, and imagine a better future.

At Young Engineers Greater Metro Perth, every build starts with a conversation—because every great engineer first learns to think before they build.

💛 That conversation may only take a few minutes, but its impact can last a lifetime.

The answer isn't the goal.

One of the things we love most about Young Engineers is that students don't just follow instructions.

They test ideas.
They make mistakes.
They try again.

Sometimes a model doesn't work the first time.

Sometimes it takes a few adjustments, a different approach, or a little persistence to figure it out.

And that's exactly where some of the best learning happens.

Because while engineering concepts matter, learning how to think through a challenge, adapt, and keep going is a skill students will use for life.

At Young Engineers, the finished model is only part of the story.

The thinking behind it is where the real magic happens.
