Sponsored by Racing WA, our annual Walking With Horses progressive competition is open to affiliated and non-affiliated centres.

Participants enjoy competing on familiar grounds and surroundings, and for the ponies and horses they too are more relaxed and comfortable without the need to transport to an alternative location.

Our Walking with Horses competition is also open to our Volunteers who relish the opportunity to celebrate their bond and relationship with their favourite horse or pony, enriching the well being of their equine partner at the same time.

How many Coaches can you spy in Horsepower Hills photos, proof that competitions are for everyone! 💙

HorsePower Australia’s Progressive Walking With Horses Competition has kicked off this month, with Participants and Volunteers completing an obstacle course with their favourite working partner.

This competition allows Participants to showcase their equine partnerships and challenges coordination, balance, functional processing and team work.

Our travelling judge visits centres to ensure that score sheets and feedback is consistent. Results get tallied once all centres have had their day, and Participants are awarded rosettes 🏵 according to grading system.

National Volunteer Week - it comes round so quickly, that we have to re-use a flyer.

BUT……the message is the same, we could not achieve what we do with out the input, support and dedication of our Volunteers.

So please, assist us in thanking our Volunteers this week and those other volunteers in our communities.

Quiet moment of reflection Carriage Coach Chris waiting for his next participant to join him & his trusty stead 💙

Carriage driving is a wonderful sport that allows those physically unable to ride or walk beside a horse experience the benefits and the power of the horse from purpose built carriages.

Good morning good folk of the Bakers Hill region.

Please consider joining our wonderful team at Horsepower Bakers Hill Carriage Driving Centre on a Monday as a Volunteer.

Experience is not required, as you will be trained as a support person within their program, assisting participants and being on grounds for safety.

It takes a team to deliver our programs, as safety protocols require members on grounds as look outs and to socialise with those next in line.

Contact the centre direct, and enjoy your day out in nature & witness the power of the horse 🐴

May is mental health month, and today we encourage all our friends and families to go blue and Do it for Dolly.

The Dolly's Dream foundation raises money for services provided to end bullying and education programs for schools, parents and kids as well as support services for those experiencing the mental health effects of bullying.

If you’d like to help HorsePower Australia’s fundraiser for the Do It For Dolly campaign then follow the link 💙

For some, joining weekly programs becomes a habit, a very good habit that builds confidence, strength, emotional regulation, social skills and most importantly friendship.

Young Tommy has been visiting Peel for 9years, riding in lessons, attending State competitions and has featured in HorsePower Australia promotional material for our sponsors 💙

Congratulations Tommy and family on your journey with HorsePower Peel and to all the Coaches and Volunteers past and present who have supported you. We look forward to seeing you in 2026 Events & Competitions.
