Turns out, this never gets old. 🏆

We’ve been entering the Baking Industry Awards for a very long time, but there’s still something pretty special about seeing the things we bake every day up there with the best.

This year, the PB bakehouse came home with 21 awards across the Bread & Pastry categories, including nine 1st places, with everything from our sausage rolls and pasties to vanilla slice and gourmet shepherd’s pie among the winners. We were also incredibly proud to be named Champion Pastry Exhibitor 2026. 🙌

It was a brilliant result for the bakehouse team- Larry, Tennille, Neervan, Angela, TK, Ven, Raymond, Milca and Paul- and a reflection of the skill, care and consistency that goes into what they do every day.

A big thank you as well to everyone across PB who plays a part behind the scenes to support the bakehouse and keep things running.

Our apprentice Tennille also picked up several awards of her own, including 2nd place for her beef mince pies and fruit mince pies👏

We also had the huge honour of receiving the Karel van Styn Baking Excellence Award, presented to just one individual or business each year in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the baking industry.

That one gets a special spot for in the trophy cabinet 🥰

Today we received some fantastic news from the Baking industry Awards ,
1st place for our Black forrest Brownie
3rd place for our Meditteranean sourdough.
Not bad going up againts some big names to put 100% gluten free up against the rest.
At freestyle We pride ourselves on creating quality handmade products from the heart and recognition like this makes the hard work worth it .
