Phat Brew Club (PBC) is the genesis of a few home brewing mates made good (winning the Margaret River Brewhouse Backyard Brewing competition with their Coffee Cream Porter back in 2020).
Fast forward to Feb 2023 & $3.5M later, what was once a dream is now reality with the opening of the PBC Club Room.
Part brewery, part pub, part restaurant, 100% good times. This spacious light filled venue (at the City West end of Perth in an old printing building) has filled a much needed gap on this side of town. An area thats been crying out for a great drinking destination since the death of the Blue Note tavern many years ago Emoji.
With Justin Shrivener (ex Blasta & Feral), & founder Travis Moore manning the (brewing) tools, you can be assured of some quality product flowing from any of the 16 x taps behind the bar. Including my faves Risky Business (a bombing high ABV WCIPA), and Big Phat & Red (a delicious, biscuity, malt forward Red IPA).
Food-wise, with Ian Macintosh (ex-Long Chim) leading the kitchen, you can expect modern asian street food (think Thai Beef Tartare, Tasmanian Oysters & Nah Jim, Chang Mai Fried Chicken Burger or Chicken Wings with Satay Sauce).
Overall I was really impressed by my experience at PBC. The staff were attentive, and the overall vibe of the venue was easy going & fun. I wish them every success.
As a final note, with Nowhereman and Besk being within easy walking distance of PBC, I dare say a new West-Side Craft Crawl on the horizon.
