How to Sell a Genocide critiques the US media’s complicity in the destruction of Gaza. As if to demonstrate that the same censorious environment exists here in Australia, the book has been removed from Waverley library’s shelves “for review” following a complaint.

The Zionist news outlet JWire last week reported it had approached the council after a survivor of the Bondi massacre saw How to Sell a Genocide on the “new release / hot item” shelf and wrote on Facebook that the display was “distressing” for survivors and bereaved families.

“The Australian government will not stop pressing Israel for justice for Ms Frankcom and her colleagues,” says PM Anthony Albanese

Frankcom is just one of more than 560 aid workers killed in Gaza and the West Bank in 2025 according to the UN. Yet, what is the Australian government actually doing to end Israel’s impunity?

Expelling the Israeli ambassador?
Nope.

Ending the arms trade with Israel?
Nope.

Imposing an economic sanctions on Israel?
Nope.

Committing to arrest Netanyahu if he sets foot in Australia?
Nope.

Instead they have set up a Royal Commission to smear critics of Israel as “antisemites” and rolled out the red carpet for Israeli president Isaac Herzog.

“By a remarkable coincidence, all five incidents had topped international news broadcasts, drew condemnation and managed to break through the wall of indifference of Israel's mainstream media, which throughout the war had systematically ignored the harm caused to innocent civilians in Gaza.

Three of the incidents involve international organizations: two in which employees of Médecins Sans Frontières / MSF were killed and a third in which aid workers from World Central Kitchen died. The two others involved Palestinians: the killing of Hind Rajab and members of her family, and the killing of several paramedics. They were among the most widely covered such incidents of the war, probably because they were documented in real time.

Over the course of the war, there were hundreds of incidents and thousands of pieces of evidence that raised suspicions of violations of the rules of engagement and the laws of war.

The inescapable conclusion from the selectivity of these investigations is that the IDF does not really want to genuinely investigate and punish those responsible. Rather, it wants to distance itself from the criticism it faces from the media and in world public opinion, perhaps to protect its soldiers from arrest and prosecution abroad.”

Israel Announces No Charges Over the Killing of Australian Aid Worker Zomi Frankcom

Israel chose World Humanitarian Day to announce that no criminal charges would be brought over the killing of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom and six of her World Central Kitchen colleagues in Gaza in 2024. The humanitarian workers were travelling in a clearly marked aid convoy when three vehicles were struck one after another by Israeli drones, despite World Central Kitchen saying their movements had been coordinated with the Israeli military. Following its own investigation, Israel concluded there was insufficient evidence to pursue criminal proceedings over the attack.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has expressed outrage at the decision, but the response has renewed questions over whether Canberra is prepared to translate its condemnation into concrete action. Zomi Frankcom’s family continues to call for an independent investigation, while critics argue that Israel’s reliance on internal military investigations has repeatedly failed to deliver meaningful accountability. Despite the Australian government’s strong rhetoric, it has not expelled the Israeli ambassador or imposed significant sanctions in response to Frankcom’s killing. Without stronger measures or support for an independent investigation, critics say Australia’s outrage risks amounting to little more than political theatre.

This week the West Australian parliament hosted the Wall of Tears, a 15-metre art installation by New York artist Phil Buehler that memorialises the 18,457 Palestinian children killed in Gaza over the past three years.

It depicts the names, photos and stories of those murdered children, beginning with the story of Wesam Iyad Mohammed Abu Fsaife, a 14-year-old boy, and ending with eight-year-old Sabah Omar Saad al-Masri.

Also depicted is five-year-old Hind Rajab, whose horrific death captivated worldwide attention.

Yet the Wall of Tears has come under fire from Nationals MLA Lachlan Hunter who claims the artwork is “anti-Semitic”.

This attack demonstrates the efforts politicians will go to to vilify those who stand in solidarity with Palestinians and against Israel’s genocide.

Greens MLC Sophie McNeill, co-convenor of the Parliamentary Friends for Palestine had this to say about Hunter’s attack:

“Lachlan Hunter is a gutless coward who wouldn’t dare repeat what he said outside of Parliament,” said McNeill, who is and a tireless agitator for the Palestinian cause.

“He’s a disgusting, cowardly little man who is using the deaths of 18,000 children to try and get a bit of attention because he’s worried about One Nation taking his seat at the next election.”

She is absolutely right.

The Israeli Defence Force has refused to open a criminal investigation into the murder of Australian Aid Worker, Zomi Frankcom and six of her coworkers in a drone strike in 2024.

Israeli Ambassador, Hillel Newman, has endorsed the decision and callously dismissed any wrongdoing on Israel's part.
All Foreign Minister Penny Wong can utter in response is that she is 'outraged'.

Outraged that the regime the Australian government has armed, funded and shielded from criticism during its 3 year genocide wouldnt even give a perfomative apology.

That the IDF has murdered aid workers for years without any consequence from the Australian government, even when it's their own citizens being killed, shows just how far the Australian political class are willing to go to support US/Israeli imperialism.

Expel the Israeli ambassador!

Courage to Care is a registered charity that offers Victorian schools a free “Upstander Program” to educate children on the dangers of, according to its website, “racism, antisemitism and all forms of discrimination”. However, closer examination reveals it has links to Zionist groups and the Israeli Defence Force.
