Lost and Found Lost & Found is a new opera company with a mission to discover lost works and present them in found spaces that speak to the resonance of the work.

Lost & Found will:
• Engage with new and established audiences for opera by exploring and pushing the boundaries of the art form
• Emphasise the link between human experience and opera, uncovering the theatrical moment that speaks to the human condition.
• Transform the world of the audience by examining the relationship between the architecture of space and the architecture of opera.
• Showcase

infrequently heard works from the operatic repertoire.
• Celebrate the relationship between different art forms and the language and the techniques used to express them.
• Explore the processes that lead to the commissioning, development and performance of new work.
• Enhance and diversify the skills of artists in a collaborative laboratory that draws upon diverse cultural practice.
• Explore the opportunities presented by new technology.

Part thriller, part operatic fever dream.

In this Australian Premiere, Kafka’s nightmarish world of accusation and authority finds a thrilling new voice with Lost and Found Opera. Glass’s hypnotic score coils around Josef K., who is arrested on his 30th birthday for an unnamed crime. Oscar-winning dramatist Christopher Hampton’s razor-sharp libretto lets a stellar cast slip between roles, while the West Australian Symphony Orchestra drives the drama with propulsive clarity.

At the heart of it all is Jarred Wall, Noongar singer and songwriter, whose magnetic presence and vocal fire anchor Josef K’s descent. Directed by Melissa Cantwell, this stark office dystopia crackles with Kafka’s black comedy, while conductor Mark Coughlan shapes Glass’s luminous repetitions into waves of suspense, tenderness, and bitter irony.
