Noranda Toastmasters Club came alive on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, with a powerful and timely theme: “VOICES That CHANGED The WORLD.”

Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Maker, thoughtfully aligned the theme with Black History Month, highlighting influential communicators and leaders whose voices shaped history and inspired generations. It was a reminder that every great change begins with the courage to speak.

Gerry delivered an engaging educational session on Creating the Best Club Climate, reinforcing that strong, supportive environments empower confident voices to grow.

We proudly welcomed our newest member, Yash, who was inducted by the President Dennis and presented with his member badge and welcome package. Impressively, Yash stepped straight into the Timer role and delivered a clear and comprehensive timing report — a fantastic start to his Toastmasters journey.

Even more exciting, guest Aish has decided to join our club, beginning her own journey of growth with us.

The evening featured two compelling speeches. Kevin explored the intriguing question “Why Time Feels Faster or Slower,” connecting meaningfully with the audience, while Jodie’s speech “What Is Time to Be Alive” showcased expressive vocal variety and confident body language.

Paula led an energetic Table Topics session aligned to the theme, with Alison earning Best Table Topics Speaker Award.

We were also delighted to host four guests — Aish, Allison, Jordon and Justin — and we thank all members for proactively confirming participation in our upcoming 2026 Club Contests.

With passionate contestants stepping forward for both the International Speech Contest and Evaluation Contest, the momentum is building.

At Noranda Toastmasters, we don’t just practise speeches — we strengthen voices, build leaders, and create impact. Because every voice, when nurtured, has the potential to change the world.

President Dennis inspired members to reassess their goals, reignite their motivation, and achieve success together with just 5 months left in the toastmasters year.

Paula, the Toastmaster of the evening, guided us with her theme, "Word of Wisdom."

Kevin delivered an enlightening educational session on the simplest yet most effective method of feedback.

Two prepared speeches followed, with Ezilma sharing insights on "Self Care: The Power of One Small Step" and Liz presenting the Pathways Base Camp, complete with a Q&A session.

A heartfelt thank you to all members and our three valued guests, Aish, Elvin, and Khiem, for bringing energy and warmth to the meeting. Together, we continue to grow, support one another, and build confidence one speech at a time.

Noranda Toastmasters met for the first time in 2026 last Wednesday, 21st January. Some lucky members were still on holiday but none-the-less the room was buzzing. Nine members and six guests filled the room. Steve, our experienced meeting Toastmaster, ran a well-organized, entertaining meeting transitioning smoothly between speakers.

Punctuality and Perseverance were meeting theme and word of the day, respectively. Punctuality served as a reminder that timeliness is indicative of good manners, and a lack thereof may result in missed opportunities. Liz delivered the Toastmasters Education Program, from the Successful Club Series, reminding, that with perseverance, Toastmasters can take you to places you never imagined.

New member, Patrick, whom we inducted and welcomed to the Noranda family, gave his first speech, About Me. His Icebreaker was delivered with warmth and humour as he introduced himself to members and guests.

Ezilma’s speech, How to Communicate Technical Risk without Panic, was exceptionally well structured with thoughtful, engaging content. Let me say, the speech title belies just how useful the strategies provided could be used in many of life’s situations.

Congratulations to Patrick for breaking the ice, Paula for her Level 3, Presentation Mastery award, Khiem one of our guests whose sensational Table Topic response won him the best TT certificate, and to Yash who joined on the night.

Next meeting: Wednesday, 4 February, in the library at Camboon Primary School, Forder Rd, Noranda @ 7pm. Hope to see you there. Be punctual. 😊

**🎉 What a Year-End Celebration! 🎉**
As 2025 comes to a close, we had an unforgettable night at our Noranda Toastmasters' **Reverse Meeting** on 3 December! The atmosphere was electric as we turned the traditional meeting upside down, and what a blast it was!

**Kicking Off with a Twist!**
Our President Dennis shocked us all by closing the meeting before we even began! Talk about keeping everyone on their toes! It set the stage for a night filled with surprises and laughter.
**Creative Challenges**
Sergeant at Arms, Steve, kept the fun rolling by speaking to the audience **backwards**, while our brave speakers navigated the stage in reverse—definitely not your average Toastmaster meeting!

**A Sprinkle of Holiday Cheer**
With the festive season as our theme, Toastmaster Liz infused the evening with holiday magic, handing out creative gift messages to every speaker. Imagine the joy as our members took the stage, armed with laughter and the inspiration from thoughtful feedback! Who knew evaluations could be such a delightful jumpstart for creativity?

**Supper & Celebration**
The festivities continued as we shared a lovely supper, filled with delicious food and even better company. The camaraderie was palpable as we captured all the moments in group photos that will fondly remind us of this night.

**Welcoming New Faces**
A special shoutout to our newest member, Patrick! Your warm welcome pack awaits you, and we’re so excited to have you join our family!

**Cheers to More Adventures**
Thank you to all our members and guests, especially Mario and Yash, for making this evening truly remarkable. And let’s not forget our pre-holiday get-together at the Italian restaurant on November 29, where we indulged in scrumptious food and built lasting memories.

As we wrap up this incredible year, let’s carry forth the festive spirit and inspiration into 2026. Here’s to more laughter, valuable learning experiences, and unforgettable moments together!

**Happy holidays, everyone!** 🎄✨
