💚 Some "melt your heart" photos of our Tawny Frogmouth pondering the world from the trees at Finney Park 🌿 See if you can spot it as we care for the bush this Sunday, 11 October, from 9am! All welcome and every little bit helps!

Did you know (cos' I didn't 😆) ... although tawny frogmouths look like owls, they are quite different! Owls are birds of prey with powerful talons for catching, while tawny frogmouths mainly catch insects with their wide beaks. Frogmouths rely on their camouflage to blend into tree branches, are mainly nocturnal and usually have a long term breeding mate 🤔

🌸 Finney Park has it all!🌿🐦🦋

The second Whadjuk Noongar spring season, Kambarang (October–November), is clearly with us. The days are warming and the Season of Birth is bringing an abundance of colourful wildflowers, busy insects and baby birds.

With support from the City of Joondalup, Andrew Shaw has been helping us as we restore and regenerate our precious patch of urban bushland and he has once again captured some stunning photos.

Together they’re creating a beautiful spectacle across Finney Park enjoyed by us as well as the insects and birds that depend on this special place 🌱 Join us at 9am on Sunday 11 October to contribute to its restoration. Anytime that people can is appreciated 💚🧤

🌿 Finney Park is blooming and our babes are learning that growing up means finding your own lunch!

Come and join us for a morning of bushcare at Finney Park this Sunday, 27 September, 9–11am.

A little weeding amongst white fringed lilies and hopefully a few local feathered friends keeping an eye on us.

Long sleeves and trousers, and closed in shoes. Everyone welcome!

🌿 From a handful of mud to a home for a new family, our Finney Park mudlarks have been busy!🐦

Some amazing photos taken recently by Andrew Shaw. Mudlarks, nests and babies! It’s wonderful to see our little patch of bushland providing habitat for local wildlife. 💚

And there’s another chance to give Finney Park some love this Sunday, 13 September, from 9–11 am.

Come along and join us for a couple of hours of bushcare. No experience needed. Just bring your enthusiasm and your good-looking self! 😊

Fabulous Finney Park Friday Frivolities! 🌱 💚

Last Friday was another fun evening with a little bushcare and a lot of laughter. As the sun drops, the lighting makes a stunning backdrop to the many flowers that are opening.

We are having a break this coming weekend but will be back to our routine 4.30- 5.30 pm next Friday, 24 July, and 9-10am Sunday, 26 July. All welcome! It's nice to be a part of reviving a small piece of urban bushland! 🧤💚✨
