♫♫♫ SSSO Musician Spotlight || Meet Lucie 📯😍

🎼Who or what inspired you to play the French Horn? 🙌🎵
Classical Music has been part of my life since day 1. My father was a great lover of music 💛 and had a vast collection of LPs which grew steadily over the years into the thousands! The record player was always playing music during the day, so I was exposed to the music of different periods and composers which enabled me to become familiar with a huge amount of the classical repertoire. My parents got me started on piano lessons 🎹from the age of six and my music education just continued from there, having the opportunity to learn recorder, flute, French horn 📯 and later, singing in choirs.

🎼The music in this third season of SSSO will feature a diverse range of music and styles, including some well-known popular classics, and a couple of stirring songs from our tenor soloist, Vin Trikeriotis.

Music has always been my happy place, and playing with the SSSO makes it even better. I love the variety and energy of this season’s music, and it’s a real pleasure to perform it on oboe.

🎼SSSO Musician Spotlight || Meet Mathilde🎻😍
She says it all:
When I joined SSSO in 2012, I was looking for an ensemble where I could return to playing the violin after a 15-year break. 🎻
I immediately felt welcomed and supported by the musicians in the orchestra. Since then, I’ve loved playing with SSSO, especially because we explore such a wide variety of music.

This season has something for everyone. It’s impossible to choose just one highlight: from our first venture into video‑game music, to the return of our favourite tenor, Vin Trikeriotis.

SSSO Musician Spotlight || Meet RONNIET 🎻

Tell us what inspired your musical journey - 🎻♫♫♫😍
Music has been part of me as long as I can remember, starting with playing the harmonica as I walked to school.

Classical music was a constant in our home and led me to love both the piano and violin. 🙌🎵But my musical taste is eclectic, like this program. It ranges from the Gypsy influenced Hungarian Dances by Brahms, to the South American rhythms of Marquez’s Danzon. Even surprisingly musical video game music.
And I always enjoy accompanying Vin singing some well-loved repertoire. 🕺
There is something for everyone in this concert not to be missed!
