The Young ATEC (YATEC) Western Australian branch assists students and young people in tourism to build their corporate knowledge, professional networks and management skills. In addition to YATEC's regular events, YATEC members also have the opportunity to take part in mentoring programs and other events and programs within their state ATEC branches.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Head Honcho event with special guests Gareth Martin CEO of Business Events Perth and Carolyn Turnbull the Managing Director of Tourism Western Australia. It’s was amazing to have two such prominent members of the industry come and speak to us last Friday.

Oh Hey WA is looking for a passionate, friendly and confident Perth local to join our team of walking tour guides. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to guide our ULTIMATE Perth Walking Tour - a 2.5 hour city overview tour covering all aspects of Perth including history, architecture, street art, nightlife, new developments and more with quirky stories and fun facts shared along the way.

WHO ARE WE?
Oh Hey WA is Perth's #1 walking tour company running fun and informative tours through Perth and Northbridge. We run a range of different tours and events across Perth and Northbridge including daytime city tours, small bar and gin tours, scavenger hunts and school excursions. Oh Hey WA is a small, family run business owned and operated by sisters Adie and Robyn along with a small team of fabulous guides. We are loud and excitable and love experiencing the best that Perth and surrounds has to offer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Be trained up as a tour guide - the BEST job in the world!
- Work for Perth’s #1 Tour Company and be part of a fun and fabulous team
- Learn all about Perth’s history, architecture, artwork, nightlife, and more
- Guide our 2.5 hour ULTIMATE Perth Walking Tour which typically runs in the mornings from 10am-1230pm (visit link below for full tour info)

- Guide groups of 1-20 people of all ages
- Provide a 5-star experience to all guests on each and every tour
- Be active while working enjoying the fresh air in the sunniest city in the world

WHAT YOU'VE GOT:
- Energy, enthusiasm, confidence and positivity
- A friendly, welcoming and non-judgemental nature
- The ability to talk to and make friends with everyone you meet
- Strong communication skills with the ability to project voice loudly
- A genuine love for Perth and a passion for sharing it with others
- A strong interest in and desire to learn about Perth’s history, architecture, public art, city spaces, culture, events, policies and more
- The ability to learn quickly, retain information and share that information in an engaging manner
- Curiosity and the desire to do your own learning and research on top of the training provided
- Be confident and comfortable presenting information to groups of up to 20 people as well as one-on-one tours
- The ability to engage with people of all ages, abilities, background and identities
- Availability for casual morning shifts across both weekdays and weekends
- Previous tour guide experience or an in-depth knowledge of Perth is not required but is desirable
- Fitness levels capable of walking and talking for 2.5 hours / 4km straight
- A first aid certificate and WWWC or willingness to obtain both

HOURS AND AVAILABILITY
This is a casual position and tour schedules can be unpredictable and change week-to-week. The ideal candidate will be available to run morning tours from 10am-1230pm, with an expected 0-4 shifts per week available for the right person. The role would suit someone who already has part time work, a student, a young parent or someone looking to pursue a passion or looking for a fun way to earn some extra money.
