We meet at 07:00 AM for a 07:30 AM start every Thursday upstairs at CU29 Restaurant & Bar, 1275 Hay Street (cnr Outram), West Perth.

West Perth Rotary was chartered (founded) in 1954. Rotary is the oldest and largest service organisation in the world. Through a network of service clubs we strive towards high ethical standards from our members, humanitarian service for our communities and peace in our world. We are men and women from all walks of life who meet regularly to service our communities locally and to create positive, lasting change globally. There are approximately 1.4 million Rotarians who belong to more than 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries. We are men and women full of goodwill, fun and laughter with the common unifying aim of making the world a peaceful, better place for everyone based on this simple personal appraisal of our behaviour. In the things we think, say or do:

- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Our club is supported by Rotary International and our charitable foundation supports our many worldwide partners and projects, including our flagship project to eradicate polio from mankind. We meet at 07:00AM for a 07:30 AM start every Thursday at Kailis Bros Leederville.

What could eight days of new experiences, challenges and connections teach you about yourself?

Applications are now open for the 2027 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), an exciting opportunity for young Western Australians aged 18 to 28 to build confidence, develop leadership skills and discover what they're capable of.

Held at Serpentine from 9 to 16 January 2027, RYLA brings together young people from different backgrounds for a week of practical workshops, team activities, personal development and new friendships.

You don't need to have leadership experience to apply. Just bring an open mind, a willingness to get involved and an interest in learning more about yourself.

Participants are supported through Rotary Club sponsorship, and you can still apply even if you're not connected with a club.

Applications close 30 November 2026.

Rotary has been part of Carolyn’s life since she was a child, and she’s seen firsthand how the organisation has evolved over the years.

In the year before his death, soul music legend Otis Redding started a music camp for young people, hoping it would become an annual tradition.

Decades later, his vision continues to inspire the next generation.

As executive director of the Otis Redding Center for the Arts and a member of the Rotary Club of Macon, MS, Karla Redding-Andrews is carrying that legacy forward, helping young people discover their talents and find their voice through music education and mentorship.

Her son Justin is also a Rotary member, and together they're sharing their passion for service with Rotary clubs across Georgia.

It's a wonderful example of how a commitment to giving back can bring generations together and create opportunities for young people.

Looking for a simple way to make a big impact in your neighbourhood? Setting up a community library is a fantastic way to encourage a love of reading in local kids.

They are easy to build, simple to maintain, and a great excuse to connect with your neighbours. Gather a few pre-loved children's books, set up a small box out front, and let the local book swap begin!

During the pandemic, a simple routine of folding paper cranes started as a quiet personal project. Nearly three years and 1,000 cranes later, that practice grew into a powerful symbol of peace, resilience, and community service.

It is a great reminder that meaningful change does not always require grand gestures right out of the gate. More often, it comes from steady dedication and small, intentional acts that build up over time.

Whether through local community projects or simple daily acts of kindness, everyday effort adds up to real progress.
