Last night, we held our 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)! ☘️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and took the time to be involved. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Claddagh Association for generously providing their office space for the evening.

We would like to acknowledge and thank two outgoing officers for their dedication and contributions over the past two years:

☘️George Harrington, our outgoing Chairperson, thank you for your leadership and commitment to the festival.

☘️Aaron Fitzpatrick, who will be stepping away from his roles as Vice Chairperson and Secretary but remaining on the committee to support the delivery of our 2027 event. Thank you for your continued commitment and support.

We are excited to announce a new fortnightly gathering at The Claddagh Association, in collaboration with The Sláinte Collective .

Come along for a relaxed cuppa, a chat and the chance to meet new people. It is a welcoming space for women of all ages to share stories, exchange a little wisdom and enjoy some good company.

Whether you are new to Perth, looking to make connections, or simply fancy a cuppa and a chat, come along on your own or bring a friend - everyone is welcome. ❤️

There is a word in Irish that reaches deeper than the English word heritage, and that word is duchas. It carries the sense of one's native place, one's inheritance, and the deep, almost instinctive belonging that ties a person to the land and people they come from.

Duchas is not only about ancestry in the abstract. It suggests something inborn, a natural bond and a rightful connection, the pull a person feels toward the ground their family worked and the traditions they were raised in. To speak of someone's duchas is to speak of where they truly belong, of the place that made them.

For the Irish who left, and for their descendants scattered across the world, duchas names a feeling that is often carried without being spoken. It is the sense that a particular corner of Ireland, perhaps never seen, is still somehow home, and that the language, the music, and the ways of a people remain part of who one is, long after the leaving.
