A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported Thrive & Strive Panel Discussion. To our audience, panellists, volunteers and sponsors — thank you for helping make WATYA’s first event of this kind such a special and meaningful one.

A special thank you to our sponsor, Office Of Multicultural Interests and our supporters for helping bring this vision to life and making this free opportunity possible for our community.

Our goal was to create a space where young people could feel inspired, represented and more confident in their own potential through education, career pathways, entrepreneurship, connection and real stories from people who understand the challenges they may face.

We hope everyone walked away with something valuable, whether that was motivation, practical advice, a new perspective, or the confidence to take the next step in their journey. If you did attend, please make sure to complete the feedback survey (emailed out to you) so we can make the next one even better!

We hope to host this event again next year with a new variety of panellists. If you’d like to stay in the loop, speak at future events, or help out, please fill out the registration form in our bio to register your details!

WA Tegaru Youth Association (WATYA) was created to support Tegaru youth in Western Australia. As first and second generation migrants, we often find ourselves navigating two worlds —
honouring where we come from while figuring out where we belong here.

We owe it to our youth, our community, and future generations to build something lasting:
A strong foundation where Tegaru youth feel seen, supported, and proud of who they are.
A space that speaks to our unique challenges and celebrates our identity and culture.

To build that, we need your support.

Volunteering with WATYA isn’t just about giving back — it’s about growing together and as individuals. By joining our team, you’ll help shape real change and gain real skills:

✨ Create opportunities for the next generation
✨ Connect with your culture and heritage
✨ Gain experience in leadership, public speaking, grant writing, event planning, teamwork & more
✨ Expand your network within the community and beyond

➡️ Swipe to hear how volunteering has impacted some of our members.

Join us tomorrow for a hike!

Hiking is a great form of exercise that has great mental health benefits as well. It's also a great way to bond with others in the community 😊

We'll be doing the Rocky Pools via Bibbulmun Track which is about 6.8km and will take around 2 and half hours to complete.

Please wear comfy sport shoes, bring water and a snack if you need. There may be some rain, so if you have water resistant jacket, that will be handy!

Location: Bibbulmun Track Northern Terminus
(Parking available right across the street)
