✨ You’re warmly invited to our next Cultivating Gratefulness Gathering on April 14th!

🧭 Every month, we explore a new and exciting theme! We warmly welcome both returning friends and newcomers—every voice truly matters here.

🎨 This month, we're excited to delve into the theme "Play Matters." Together, we'll gently explore the essence of play and discover how to keep our playful spirits alive, even when life feels a bit challenging. Join us for an afternoon full of conversation and creativity. You’ll be invited to tap into your creative side as you create your own Play Zine (pronounced "zeen"). Think collage, colouring, quotes, poems, and creative journaling.

☘️ These gatherings are hosted by Befriend Inc, draw on the resources of the Gratefulness Network, and are supported by the City of Armadale Libraries & Heritage.

🌟 Just a quick reminder: please register for the event so we can prepare printouts and have enough creative resources for everyone.

We're back at Piara Waters Library tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb 3rd, from 10 am to 1 pm for Chat Connect Create. This is a relaxed space where you can join a group of local people to weave conversation, get crafty and form new connections. It is free, and all resources are provided; you can also bring your own creative project.

We're thrilled to team up with Armadale Library to launch a weekly Wingspan Board Game Group.

Guided by our board game enthusiast, John, the group offers a wonderful opportunity to start or deepen your board game adventure, connect with like-minded people, and find a place where you truly belong.

Wingspan is a fascinating game about the avian (bird) world. As the group’s skills grow, John will introduce you to a special edition featuring Australian birds.

Whether you’re new to Wingspan or have played before, you’re welcome to join us. John loves teaching people how to play board games, so you’ll be in good hands.

This is a friendly, relaxed group that welcomes all abilities.

Join Befriend Inc for a warm and welcoming six-week journey into self-compassion!

📆 Every Saturday afternoon from February 7th to March 14th, we invite you to explore the heartfelt art, science, and practice of self-compassion.

🤲🏽Together, explore practices to nurture self-confidence, deepen your sense of worth, and find greater ease amid daily stress.

This series is offered in collaboration with Gosnells Women's Collective Inc. It’s completely free—simply register using the QR code on the flyer.

🌟 As we wrap up another wonderful year of Befriend's Cultivating Gratefulness Gatherings, I want to shine a light on the goodness that unfolds within this group and say thank you to everyone who has joined us this year.

🧶 Each month, we gather to explore the threads that weave a grateful life. We’ve shared personal stories, rediscovered play, crafted gratitude journals, vision boards, and thank-you cards, found beauty in everyday moments, and written poems on themes like “These moments delight me.” Together, we’ve said Yes to joy, tapped into creativity, nurtured love, awakened our senses, cultivated peace, and built a tapestry of compassion, kindness, and belonging.

🌸 It’s been a pleasure to welcome adults from various backgrounds and life stages as we come together to enjoy the benefits of living gratefully.

🌿 As the host, I’m in awe of the power of connection that unfolds in each gathering. I see strangers opening up to each other in ways we rarely find an opportunity to do. This group's fostering of connection, the warmth they share, the generosity on display, and their openness to celebrating each other’s uniqueness make it truly special. It’s a genuine delight and privilege to be part of it all.

🎉 I share this to celebrate the goodness that comes from connecting in this way and to remind you that you’re always welcome here, where the magic of grateful living is truly embraced!

We’ll continue to cultivate gratefulness together on the second Tuesday of each month throughout 2026. We thank Armadale Libraries & Heritage for making this possible.

Chat Connect Create at Piara Waters Library is taking a festive break and will return in February.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us in 2025 and extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Armadale for collaborating on this community connection initiative.

Here’s what some participants have shared about their experiences:

🌿 Join a friendly local community group for a range of self-led craft activities while making new friends and connecting with like-minded people. The aim of this group is to connect with other people as we “Chat, Connect and Create” together.

🧺 Monday, November 3rd - LEARN TO WEAVE MINI BASKETS WITH RAFFIA

✨ Sabah, a local community member, has offered to teach us how to make small Raffia baskets. We'll bring the supplies.

You can choose to join in with weaving or work on another craft project, like card making, collages, zines, or some other creative craft ideas you have.

You can also bring your own project if you'd like to.

📖 Monday, November 10th - LEARN HOW TO MAKE ZINES (mini magazines)

This week, we'll show you how to create your own zines. These are mini-magazines with endless uses. You can turn them into a journal, a special occasion card, a way to share information, or a mini poetry magazine. Let your creative imagination guide your project. Materials are provided; however, if you have your own special paper you’d like to use, please bring it along.

Materials are provided, or you’re welcome to bring along your own project.

📆 On Monday, November 17, and December 1st, we’ll have an open craft theme. You could choose to continue with weaving, make more zines, or cards or join us to learn how to make paper baubles.

🌸 These gatherings are wonderful spaces where community spirit and creativity can really blossom. Whether you're looking forward to making new friends or simply enjoying some creative time, you'll find a warm and inviting atmosphere here.
