We are delighted to have received $5,000 funding from the State Government Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety to upgrade our existing pathways to make it safer and more accessible for all. It also is more pleasing to the eye. Thanks to our local Member for Dr. Tony Buti MLA for this election commitment.

One of my favourite crops to grow at home are potatoes.
They grow easily, want very little from you, are pest free...and DELICIOUS.

I planted in June and waited til the plants died back.
This morning...I've dug out just one small corner of the bed, approximately 1 square foot in the old money...
and I'm set for potatoes for the week.

What is YOUR favourite crop to grow in the home patch, and tell us why.
Bonus points for pics!

We are in vancouver today, and just across the street from us is Riley park. Within, and open to the park, is the Riley Park Community Garden.
We were delighted to visit it and to meet one of its members, Angela, who once used to live in Nedlands!
We had a brief tour of the garden, and I'm sad to admit that the one thing that i marvelled at the most...was how un-vandalised it was, and how so much ripe and ready produce remains on the plants even tho the garden remains open to the public 24/7.
i think of the heartbreak of the Roleystone Community Garden by comparison.
I am told that the odd thing goes missing, here and there, but the bounty remains largely undisturbed by the public.

Here are some photos for you to enjoy.
I definitely got some ideas from this garden 👍

Its a little hard to show as photos were shot into the sun from a bit of a distance but there were about 10 Carnaby cockatoos in our Pincushion Hakea this morning feasting away. This plant is only a few years old and small enough for most gardens. It requires little water after being established. Help our precious birds by planting and protecting trees that provide a food source for our cockatoos in your garden.

Down here at the garden, we don't just garden by day...but at night as well.
The dragonfruit are night bloomers and require a little 'help' with pollination. They are as rewarding to grow for their flowers as they are for their fruit.
