📢 Calling All Old Nalandians in Perth! 🇱🇰🤝🇦🇺

We are the Old Nalandians Association of Western Australia (ONAWA) - a proud community of Sri Lankan school alumni based right here in Perth.

Established in 2013 and formally incorporated in 2016, ONAWA has grown into a well-recognised and vibrant association that brings together Old Nalandians living in Western Australia.

Here’s what we do:
✅ Support Our Members - We have built a strong network that helps each other personally and professionally.
✅ Reconnect & Celebrate - We organise meet-ups, "brothers' get-togethers," and social gatherings to strengthen our bonds.
✅ Community Projects & Events - We take part in and host events that give back to our wider Sri Lankan and Australian community.
✅ Create a Home Away from Home - Whether you are new to Perth or have been here for years, you’ll find lifelong friendships and a sense of belonging here.

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, the ONAWA Committee announces the peaceful passing of our beloved Nandaka / Don, a founding member, former President, respected leader and dear friend of the ONAWA family.

Surrounded by the love and care of his family, he passed away peacefully today after a courageous journey with cancer.

Nandaka’s dedication, vision and commitment played an important role in shaping ONAWA into the community it is today. He will always be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, humility and the guidance and friendship he offered so generously to those around him.

While our hearts are filled with sorrow, we take comfort knowing that he is now at peace, free from pain and suffering. His legacy, contributions and the countless memories he created will forever remain in our hearts.

On behalf of the ONAWA Committee, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, messages and support during this difficult time.
