🌕 Full Moon Lantern Festival 2026 Recap 🌕
Saturday 19/09/2026
Thankfully, the weather held up on Saturday, allowing us to celebrate a wonderful Full Moon Lantern Festival with our community, from youth to seniors.
The festival brought together hundreds of community members for an afternoon and evening filled with cultural performances, traditional lantern activities, games, food, music, and family-friendly entertainment. The event showcased the rich diversity of our community while creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect, share cultures, and build lasting friendships.
On behalf of the Westnam United Soccer Club, we would like to sincerely thank the City of Wanneroo for once again providing financial support for this event. A special thank you also goes to Monica Nguyen for her ongoing support and contribution.
We would also like to thank our valued partners, the Vietnamese Youth Buddhist Association and Apollo Care Services, for helping make this event possible.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our performers who entertained and inspired the crowd throughout the day:
• Chi Celine and Ao Dai Club members
• Chi Huyen from the Vietnamese Catholic Church
• Chi Huyen and the youth dancers from Morley Baptist Church
• Chi Oanh and the Flow Yoga Team
- Aleisha and the Zumba Team
• The Lion Dance Group
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, including our MC, DJ, photographer, parents, canteen team, game stall volunteers, and everyone involved in organising this year's festival. Your dedication and hard work were instrumental in making the event such a success.
A special thank you to everyone who attended the festival. Your support, enthusiasm, and participation created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that made the celebration truly special. Seeing families, friends, and community members come together to enjoy and celebrate our cultural traditions was the highlight of the day.
We are proud to share that Westnam United raised $7,500 through canteen sales and donations on the day. These funds will be used to support schools in Vietnam that provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged children.
Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, performed, and supported the festival. Your presence and generosity helped create a memorable celebration for our community.
📸 Photos from the day will be uploaded soon.
Together, we celebrated culture, strengthened community connections, and made a positive difference in the lives of children in need. Thank you for being part of this special event. ❤️🏮🌕
