The Hand Tool Preservation Society of Western Australia meets to discuss the latest finds in old hand tools, and how to preserve or use them.

The Hand Tool Preservation Society Of West Australia preserves and restores old hand tools from every trade. You can buy and sell, or join up and collect, discuss your collection, ask for advice, or get tips on where to improve your collection. Members come from all walks of life and share an interest in collecting old hand tools.

An update on preparation on the Patternshop for our big event 15-16 August 2026.

We have been busy cleaning the machines, building displays, preping the tools and displays, upgrading the lighting and security. Lots to do all work in progress.

2 day event is also to launch our new home as we have been granted lease over the historic Pattern shop located within the Midland Railway Workshops,West Australia

Come join in the fun of the Fayre.
The medieval fayre that is......
Come visit our display and sale of vintage tools. Lots of axes, hatchets scythes and leather work gear to fit the theme and help complete your theme wardrobe. And of course all things wood working, metal working and tools of lost trades.
Note the new venue at Lilac Hill , West Swan road Caversham. Start time 10am

Hide the files and the hacksaw's because
Moondyne Joe is on the loose. But fear not as the local constabulary are hot on his trail, well at least they should be unless the local floosies dont keep them occupied.
Come along and join in the fun at the FREE to attend Moondyne Festival up and down the main street in Toodyay Sunday 3rd May
We will be at the top end of town with displays , demonstrations and sales of collector and user hand tools so come and say G'day.

ANZAC DAY
Come and join us at the Peace Memorial at 8.30 am at the Midland Railway Workshops for a commemorative service then over to the Pattern shop for a tour and display of military tools. The Boiler house will also be open with the CWA Midland Branch supplying morning tea and Machinery Preservation Club of WA Inc hosting displays within the powerhouse and Boiler room. Members of Midland and Districts Historical Society Inc. Will be hosting the service in conjuction with Belvue RSL.
As with all ANZAC service's your participation to lay a wreath or flowers is most welcome.
This year is also the Centenary of the memorial, so also take a look at the history panels after or before the service.

Come and join us next week end Sat 18th April on Talbots farm at Brunswick Junction. Along with all the displays of tractors machinery and farm historical farm equipment we will have a great display , demo and sale of vintage tools.

There will be vintage tractors, farm machinery, cars, motorbikes and earthmoving equipment will lining the field at Wedderburn Farm, also known as Talbot’s Farm, not only for show but to demonstrate how these machines were used in farming in years gone by.

The event will also feature ploughing, earthmoving and tractor-pulling demonstrations, and food and produce stalls

As well as our great selection of collector and user woodworking tools there will be live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and woodworking for all skill levels

Grand opening of the new Midland railway station.
Come see the new and visit the old. 2026 new station and 1904 old railway workshops.
The historical pattern shop, boiler house and powerhouse will be open for inspection so wander across to blacksmith lane.
We will have information. Displays and sales to compliment this community event.
